There you go! One lovely little Acid Trip. Can I get you anything else for the moment?

He waited until the customer Fai was with drifted away from the bar before approaching. Frau grinned, and looked like his usual self, much different from the last time Fai had seen him.]
You're a pain in the ass, you know that?
Reply
[Fai returned the jab just as easily as he reached for a bottle, poured Frau a double shot of whiskey without bothering to ask. As he set it down before his friend, he offered a small smile.]
Haven't seen you much lately. How've you been?
Reply
[Fai had seen Frau at his worst, so Frau had very little to hide from him anymore. It was hard to hide the truth when you'd unknowingly almost killed your friend's friend.]
Reply
[Fai chuckled softly at that and leaned in, braced his forearms on the top of the bar in a lazy slouch.]
I'd say you're somewhere in between, so that's not too bad, right?
Reply
[Fai was right though. Frau had certainly been worse. A lot worse. He'd also been better too. Right now he was still struggling with what he'd done. It had been hard being here without his light. Now it seemed like he was going to drown in darkness while it was away.]

I was worried when you didn't come back. But since you're out and about, I guess you're well enough to go back to life as usual in this place, huh.
[You didn't really expect him to answer that, did you, Frau?]

I went back to work awhile ago.
[He'd just kept it work and home for the most part though. It had taken awhile for him to feel comfortable going out somewhere else. Now he was finally feeling alright enough to see Fai again.]

[With a sigh, Fai steps off to the side to take one of the waitresses order, then shifts back to continue with Frau as he begins mixing several drinks together.]
You know, that wasn't just you, right? I looked into it after everything that'd happened and I think whatever it was... there was some sort of tampering with the cherry blossoms. Something in the flowers was altering people's state of minds.

[He'd fallen like that before, and it could happen again. This time was pretty bad. If Fai was right he could consider that extra desire and loss of consciousness a cause of the flower petals, but the start to the fall had nothing to do with them. He'd lost control.]

[He shrugged at that and kicked on the blender for a moment, his gaze more understanding than anything as he met that azure gaze with a quiet steadiness. Once done, he poured the last drink, then moved to set them back on the trey before returning to his friend.
Because he knew, didn't he? Anything he said on the matter wouldn't matter to Frau at all. The guilt of one's own weaknesses wouldn't be placated by a few reassuring words or minor circumstantial differences.]
...think you'll be able to tell if it's about to happen again?
Reply
[The question was why he hadn't tried to do anything to stop it from happening. That's the part that bothered him. He'd let it happen. Had he really gotten to the point that someone, even in his human soul, he wanted the scythe to take over? Wanted to harm an innocent?
Frau didn't want to believe it, but it wasn't a thought he could push away. He reached out a took a long sip of the drink Fai had poured for him earlier. He couldn't drink the feelings away, but maybe, like with the cigarettes, it could hide it a bit.]

So then... do you think the effects of the petals were the reason you didn't seem to be resisting it? Because from the sound if it, from what I gathered from Sakura-chan, it was a pretty swift change.
Reply
Yeah. It would make sense. I know what will happen if I lose control of the scythe. I haven't given up fighting.
[And there had been no other trigger.]
Reply
That is a good thing to hear, my friend. Now... it's up to you, but if you like, I can try to devise a more perminant seal, to help you. That or I can place a trigger seal inside you though those are a fair bit trickier.
[A beat.]
If you think it'd help.
