[Luckily for Elliot, mermaids have very good hearing and lucky for Elliot, he has a very loud voice. Thus when she hears her name being called, it only takes her a moment to respond. She can smell the fish and really, she wasn't very far away.

A few pumps of her tail and she was at the edge of the dock below the surface of the water, popping her head up immediately.]

Hello Elliot.

[In all honesty, his wrist was beginning to get tired from waving the heavy bucket. But lucky for Elliot, Syrena arrived quickly! But he wasn't so lucky after all. Seeing her head pop up, Elliot gave a lurch in surprise before leaning forward.

Worst mistake? Yes. The weight of the bucket made it harder for him to catch his balance and before he knew it, Elliot was falling face first into the water. Bucket and all.

The water was cold the second he was engulfed, and it suddenly began difficult for him to make his way to the surface. So the only thing he could do was struggle around beneath the water, kicking and flailing. It became quite obvious that this boy didn't know how to swim.]

[His surprise surprised her and soon enough Syrena found herself watching Elliot tumble into the water and, well. Drown.

Hm.

Oh. Drowning. Right.

Down into the water she went, tail flicking as he flailed about. Strong fingers, nails sharp gripped the front of his shirt, only to toss him out of the water, back onto the dock.

Hopefully it wouldn't hurt too much.]

[Being thrown onto the deck was a rude awakening, but it sure as hell was better than drowning in the water. While colliding with the wood, the only thing he could do was scream as loud as he could in rage.

The cold water would also be a problem with that. But the second he got onto his knees, he grabbed the towels and instantly wrapped them around his body. The only things being said were quite curses below his breath. This was not a good morning.]

[The screams made here sink back underwater, just so her eyes and the top of her head seemed to break the surface. Around behind a rock she went, simply peeking over it. She said nothing, allowing Elliot his own time to spout colorful language.]

...Are you hurt?

[He's giving a grunt before looking back at the water and.... where was Syrena? Looking around behind him, he saw the rock and her peeking over it. He frowned before turning completely and sitting on the dock.]

Yeah-- sorry... [And then a change in topic.] I.. brought you fish, but... [He points at the hoards of floating fish in the water that he had previously in the bucket. It was an assortment, seeing as he didn't know which she would prefer.]

[It was then her attention was drawn to the fish floating atop the water. Oh. He'd...brought fish for her?

Well, she was rather hungry...Without a word she came out from behind a rock, snatching up one of the fish from the surface. It was eeriely disgusting the way she nonchalantly bit the fish's head off, chewing once before swallowing, the rest of the fish still held in her hand.]

That was kind of you.

[Yeah, he.. isn't going to watch. He'll place his chin within a palm before looking some other way.

The sound wasn't pleasant though. Either way, Elliot nodded with closed eyes.]

I didn't know which you'd prefer, so I got a lot. That's also the reason I came earlier. The fishermen go out early to catch fish and sell it along the docks. Just to make sure it's fresh, you know?

[It's probably for the best he's not watching. Teeth are sharper, as are nails as she guts the body of the fish, stripping its flesh from its tiny bones. When finished she reached for another, this time not bothering to be so meticulous. Thus, a nasty uncomfortable crunch of the fish' bones.

They taste good. There are a lot of them. Perhaps the dolphin-like creature would like some later.]

There are few things that taste more rotten than a rotten fish.

Well, still. No one should really eat rotten things.

[A shrug, trying to ignore the disgusting encore of the other fish.]

They have places here on land that serve seafood also. I haven't really had any, but I heard it's good.

[She's sated for now, even if there are a ton of fish about.]

There are such places? [Pause.] You've never tried?

There are. And no, I haven't.

[He gave a shrug. It wasn't a big deal to him.] I eat other things.

What do I eat?

[Well..] Many things, I guess. They have meat here, also vegetables. Fruit is pretty good as well. You can say there are a bunch of things to eat.

Fruit and vegetables?

You don't know what those are either? They're--.. healthy if that's the term to use. It's hard to describe the taste for vegetables since it can differ.

But most fruits are sweet.
