[Cass finally takes a break to wander the streets of her "neighborhood" today, sticking to Sectors Nine and Ten. She's on the trail of some strange drug that's been hitting the streets and is keeping her eye out for the dealers.

She's in the Batcave that night, checking in for a bit before she heads back out.]

[ An hour after the sirens, and they're at the borders where Sector 10 begins. The streets are busier than those of the safer Sectors, because the buildings didn't exactly provide adequate protection so staying inside made no difference for the people living there. Damian is with her, perched on a rooftop and scanning the streets below with his binoculars.

Right now, there was nothing truly indicative. He's mostly looking out for suspicious gatherings, and people behaving oddly. Also, drugs are usually passed around in those seedy, underground clubs too. ]

[She's keeping an eye out for the monsters, watching his back. She's scanning the streets below as well, waiting for a few of the dealers to show their faces. She had seen them earlier but there had been no conclusive evidence to say they were selling that new drug.

It's quiet for the most part. No one's trying to cause too much trouble for fear of them being heard by a monster. A few of them have guns. Big guns. That's not the sort of firepower that poor people should be picking up so easily.]

They have connections.

[Or they're in debt and have to be bodyguards to get by.]

[ He agrees, but it goes unsaid. ] Doesn't mean they're who we're looking for.

[ He'll still keep an eye on them, though. Especially since they seem to be communicating with each other, and staying close to the secluded alleys in a somewhat organised fashion. Another person -- unarmed -- can be seen wandering around with a very unsteady gait. He does not seem to be reacting to his surroundings; he was almost in stupor. This person was either an idiot, and dumb enough to get helplessly drunk out in the Darkness, or he's already experienced the effects of some drug and is now pining for more. ]

[He's right. None of them seem to be selling anything or doing anything illegal. Instead, they're huddled close and keeping themselves safe. That's what makes it so easy to spot the one person who's not following the norm, moving around like he's half-drunk. She frowns.]

There.

[She doesn't immediately jump down to interrogate the man. Instead, she continues watching, but now she's really keeping an eye out for the monsters that might want an easy meal like him.]

[ Damian's not so focused on looking out for monsters that might attack him. He's more focused on where this man is heading. ] There is something wrong with him. [ As that person makes his way across the streets, Damian moves across the rooftops to keep him in sight. ]

[Cassandra follows, the slower and more cautious of the two. The last thing she wants is for them to be unprepared. But she turns her eyes to the man walking, starting to move a little quicker when he stumbles. He's muttering something to himself.]

[ He will admit he doesn't know much about the drug yet, so he does not know of the effects it had on people. For all they know, they could be following this person in vain. That man finally stops, and hastily knocks against the backdoor of a bar. The door opens just a little, and a hushed conversation is had, before that man is let in.

Damian lowers his binoculars and thinks for a second, before he throws his line over to the other building. He's going to check this out. ]

[It might be nothing, but he could still be a problem later. It's their job to make sure that doesn't happen. She follows right behind Damian, shooting herself up onto the rooftop of the other building. There are no air ducts to use without endangering the people inside, but they can still get to the door to be there when he leaves.]

This is taking too long. [ Damian doesn't want to wait until he leaves, however. He's impatient by nature, and still believes that waiting would yield nothing. He knows the buildings in this sector were barely Darkness-proofed, so breaking a window was out of the question. There was another option, of course. ] I'm going in.

[ Meaning: They were going to let him in. He's moving to drop down onto the porch of the backdoor, and he intends to grab the bouncer by the collar once he opens the door. Granted, going in in disguise would likely be the better option, but Damian prefers the straightforward approach. ]

[He's too hasty. She frowns.] Robin--

[She follows, grabbing his belt. She shakes her head.] You'll be too obvious. They won't give you anything.

[And they're super-powered, more than likely. For him to go in would be disastrous.]

[ Brushes her hand off, huffing. ] The choice isn't theirs to make. [ He will beat information out of the people inside if he has to. ]
