Frau had promised Fai that he would come to the Bistro at one point. Sure, he probably should have come sooner, but at least he'd gotten there. Considering how nice the day was, Frau didn't mind the walk over to sector five at all. After going a few streets, he finally noticed the new additions.

Those flowering trees hadn't been there before, had they? He scowled at them a second before shrugging and moving on again. They weren't really a bad addition. Kinda pretty actually. For the rest of the trip Frau took the time to "smell the roses" in a way by actually admiring the trees. When he reached the Bistro, he couldn't help grinning at the sign. Fai was using the trees for sales. Go figure.

Fai, who happened to be stepping over to one of the table beside the glass wall, set the plates in his hand down and offered the two seated there an easy smile. As he straightened up, he caught sight of a familiar blond figure looking at the sign and chuckled to himself.

He stepped over and knocked lightly on the glass, then waved the man in with a grin.

It was unexpected, but nice to finally see the person he'd almost call a friend finally stop by.

The rapping caught Frau's attention, and he glanced up. By this point Frau was very familiar to him. With a smile and a light nod Frau followed the request and entered the bistro.

After a quick look around, he gave Fai another small smile. "Nice place you have here." It was. It was a lot different than the club Fai worked at too.

"Much more respectable, given the locale, than the club, right?" He smiled and nodded into the seating area, then pointed first to an empty table near the window and another in the shaded interior, as if to indicate it was Frau's choice.

"Of course, that means it's pricier so if I want to stay solvent, I still have to work at there too~ Good to see you though."

Frau headed toward the table by the window, hoping it might be a bit warmer since the sun was shining through. Maybe not much, but a little. That, and there were some rather lovely girls sitting by the window too.

"Seems that way." He sat and gave Fai a grin. "Good to see you too." Especially since Fai was looking better and wasn't prying into things he didn't need to be.

Fai pulled his seat out and gave Frau a flourishing bow, then stepped back enough to catch one of the menu's off of the drink sidebar before setting it on the table before the seat. "Honestly this was the nicest area that was within means - and furthest from the Core. Seemed the best place to bring Sakura-chan, all things considered."

Without preamble, Fai slid down into the seat opposite Frau and propped his chin on his knuckles. Eyed the man a moment before nodding. "Must say, you're looking better than you did the last time we spoke, so that's a good thing, right?"

Frau's eyes narrowed minutely and darkened quite a bit. He didn't want to go there. Discussing the scythe was not going to happen. Fai didn't need that burden, and Frau didn't want anything else on his own shoulders. He'd handle the scythe on his own, as he always did.

But that was for him to deal with and not Fai. That being said, he would just give Fai the usual subject change.

"You're trying to protect her that much? Sakura. She seemed worried about you before. You must be close."

"Sakura... or rather this Sakura... she has the same essence as Ui ra Purinshia." He smiled and cut his gaze away, shrugged a bit at that. For just a moment, His gaze seemed distant, as if seeing something beyond that window that only he could see. "She's got the same 'heart' or 'soul' as the Princess that I've been traveling with and innocence such as hers, well, it's to be protected."

He blinked, then smiled as he glanced back to Frau and canted his head to the side. "I'm sure you know what I mean, right?"

"I have no idea what the gobbledegook you compared her essence to is, but yeah, I do know what you're talking about."

Frau could see the color of people's souls easily enough. If it was one he knew well, he could even identify the same soul in another being or object after the originals death. A reincarnation of that person. The brightness or darkness of a person's soul also stood out to him. That was what could cause him problems. A pure, gleaming bright soul was something to treasure and something that looked incredibly appetizing.

"It's just a theory we've considered, given all the reoccurring faces and their baseline traits that we've seen in the various dimensions we've traveled to."

He shrugs at that and props his chin on his knuckles, then cut his gaze other to where Sakura was stepping out of the kitchen and into the main restaurant area. "See? She's one of those rare treasures, in every carnation."

Frau followed Fai's gaze and smiled softly when he saw Sakura. The girls soul was beautiful, and it gleamed around her in a light that made Frau see why Fai labeled her a "rare treasure." The scythe immediately perked up in interest too, but Frau beat it down without a second's thought. Little girls like that were not food.

"She's something very special." He looked away and smiled, perhaps a touch sadly, down at his menu. While that was true, she wasn't the light that he'd lost.

"She is indeed. Here, Let me introduce you," murmured Fai lightly. He turned away at the smile that touched his almost-friend's lips, the curiosity there - because one didn't smile like that without reason. However it wasn't really his place to ask and Frau didn't seem the type to be overwilling to share, so instead he just waved and called out to Sakura to give Frau that moment with his thoughts.

"Sakura-chan~ come here! We have a special guest so I'd like to introduce you~"

Frau forced his gaze off the menu and smiled warmly at the young girl, all hint of sadness gone. He could easily hide what was going on inside of him. The feeling like he was walking through the dark with no guiding light. The scythe poking and prodding and demanding inside of him. All of that could be hidden fully out of sight. Nobody would even suspect.

Sakura hopped over, holding a tray in her arms. She wore a smile on her face, eager to meet this special guest, wondering who it might be.

"Hello!" she said as she reached the table.

Fai chuckled softly at her cheerfulness, then waved a hand between them. "Sakura-chan, this is my friend Frau. Frau, Sakura-chan. Oh!"

Sliding out of his seat, Fai nodded her into it. "Take a seat and I'll get us some tea until Frau decides on what he wants to eat, hm?"

Friend, huh? Apparently he'd been promoted. Frau gave Sakura a warm smile and a small nod in greeting.

"Pleasure to meet you."

That was Frau, all manners when it came to women. Sakura though was young even for him. He might even consider her a brat, and treat her like one, depending on the situation. He turned to Fai a moment later.

"We'll see if you can stand up to Labrador's standards."
