in a tired, tired world.

Who: Maya and Allen Walker.
When: Backdated to before Allen became young.
Where: Random street number eighty-six.
Summary: It's hard to run from good people when they're really, really persistent.
Warnings: Mentions of violence and trauma of small children.

[he'd actually seen a doctor over this-- and that was the shocking part that Allen kept his mind on, because straying from that for even a second left him staring at a brick wall for upwards of a minute. visiting a clinic was obviously a good idea: his arm was re-wrapped in clean bandages, his nose was set (he hadn't even known it was broken), and overall, physically, he was feeling better.]

[and yet...]

[... and yet, he didn't want to think about it. he was currently on the road to find a laundromat, though he probably needed to find "detergent" beforehand. he didn't know of any soaps that would help get blood out of leather, unfortunately.]

[he paused at a crosswalk, blinked at the streets' names - oh. it seemed like he'd passed the laundromat by a block. well, no matter; being free enough to walk around the city was nice, and he figured it counted as keeping forward more than sitting around his apartment did. he probably should've been keeping any eye out for jobs, too-- there was no way he could continue performing in the fair with only one arm -]

[ah, that was a horrible thought. best to just get to the laundromat, first.]
