[ His target evaded him last night, so today, he'll visit the library for research purposes. He has breakfast, but doesn't bother with lunch, focused as he is on his business.

A light dinner is had, and then he goes out after sirens again. Tonight will be the night he apprehends his prey. ]

[She's usually heading home about this time, but a brief shadow passing between alleyways catches her attention. She scales the building quickly, avoiding detection and then makes her way across one of the rooftops. She stops at the edge when she sees the tail end of Deathstroke's uniform, quirking an eyebrow. What's he even doing out here at night?

She follows at a distance, half because she doesn't want to be detected, and partially because she's avoiding as many monsters as possible. Should he realize she's there, it won't matter; she's not going to interfere until she knows what he's doing.]

[ Right now, he's tracking. It's apparent from the way he stops, observes, and moves on. Despite the garish colors he wears, he blends surprisingly well -- a predator of the highest order moving fluidly amidst the shadows.

He seems intent on his business and unaware he's being followed. ]

[He's sometimes almost invisible to the eye when he blends into the shadows. It's surprising, considering the orange he wears. She keeps her distance, glad that she isn't wearing anything that could cause too much noise.

When he slips through another alley, she jumps another roof and continues, stopping on the edge of the rooftop and watching. She keeps her eyes on the monsters, but she won't lose sight of him.]

[ He avoids the monsters as well, disinterested in creating a stir amongst the city's more dangerous inhabitants.

Pausing outside a dingy, run-down warehouse, he scans the area briefly before disappearing inside. ]

[She stops and gives him enough time to head into the warehouse before she moves, quick and nearly silent as she uses her powers to give her an advantage. She doesn't trust the warehouse's roof to be particularly silent, which is why she gets onto the fire escape of the building she finally decides to land on and climbs down near one of the windows to the warehouse.

She glances inside, careful to hide herself.]

[ As run-down as the exterior appears to be, the building is surprisingly well-sealed. Smudged, dirty windows obscure the view of the interior, and the darkness doesn't help much.

Whatever could he be doing in there? ]

[Goddammit. This isn't going to work. She tries to scrub off some of the dirt on the windows but that only smudges them more. Shit.

Re-l climbs up the wall and looks for an alternate way in. She finds another window nearby, closer to the roof, and unlocks it, slipping in. She closes and locks it behind her, making sure the Darkness doesn't get in too much. Up on the scaffolding of the warehouse, she crouches down and tries to find Slade.]

[ Silence and darkness. That's what greets her as she creeps into the building. The shadows lend quite a bit to the imagination, but thus far, there is no sign of her quarry. ]

[Damn. To turn on her light would expose her. She's careful as she moves across the scaffolding, silent as she walks. She's not even sure if Slade is still in here. After a while she simply stops moving and listens for breathing and heartbeats.]

[ The seconds stretch into minutes, but there comes a point where a shadow drops down somewhere behind her.

A hand rests on his blade. ]

[That one she feels, just barely, and she whips around. Her hand is on her gun.]

[ There's a pause, the outline of his silhouette only vaguely discernible in the twilight.

He keeps his hand on the hilt, watching her all the while. ]

[She's staring right at him but just as a blind man would; it's difficult to see him, but she knows someone's there. It takes a few seconds for her eyes to adjust, her gaze lingering on his shoulders.

Yes, that's him. Softly, she finally speaks up.]

Are you going to throw that at me?

Night; after Re-l? under_thehood August 10 2011, 20:20:18 UTC
[Jason is still trying to find leads on the parents whose kids are being essentially held hostage. It's been a long and frustrating couple nights of ending up empty-handed every time. Still, when he spots some orange and blue, his guard goes up almost immediately and he ducks behind the nearest air conditioning unit. He knows that uniform, those colors, and they mean something very, very bad, but with the investigation on the parents going poorly, he wants something to put under his belt, something he can say that he did right.

So, he's out in the open after a couple moments of deliberation, dark jacket, kevlar, boots, and red helmet all visible as he prepares a jumpline to the next roof. He needs to find an opportunity to try and catch Slade off his guard.]

that works! terminates August 11 2011, 04:13:45 UTC
[ Already on high alert after a run-in with another interloper, he catches a glimpse of movement and color out of the corner of his eye. No external reaction is given as he goes about his business, but in reality, he's coiled like a spring -- not tense but ready to shed inaction.

A fraction of a second is all that he needs. ]
