Summary: Outer Heaven now has bright pink sonidoing kittens running around. They're all fucked.

[If Liquid had followed Szayel's advice and adjusted the security system to allow him through (assuming it was even up), it wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Szayel ran into Outer Heaven so fast, he wasn't even a blur on the camera, and for anyone in the room with Liquid and Banana, one minute there as nothing, and the next, there was a crazy pink scientist that looked like he sonidoed around the world in 80 seconds.]

Is it over? Are they well?

[It was up, and functional. And Liquid was quite surprised to find the sudden and frazzled arrival of the insane-looking man.]

It's over. And see for yourself. [He lifted a hand and pointed leisurely at the small litter. Five little pink kittens were cuddled up on the bed. A sixth one, far tinier than the others and far weaker in appearance, rested in Liquid's arms.]

[Szayel gingerly approached the bed, mindful of the kittens as he sat down, gently patting Banana as he observed his offspring. His attention flicked up to Liquid a moment, a concerned frown on his face.]

Will that one make it?

I think so. It was touch and go for a few moments, but it seems to be alright now. As long as it gets enough food it should be fine.

[Banana tiredly nuzzled Szayel's hand affectionately.]

[omnomspecimens]

Excellent.

[Six children. He had six kittens. Unbelievable. A touch of pride came to his face, as if he had done all the work.]

I'd offer you a cigar, but I don't have any.

[A low laugh.] How does it feel, to be a parent?

[omnomspecimens]

[Cigar? Ew; must be a human custom to destroy your lungs after creating offspring. Good thing Liquid doesn't have any.]

...Interesting. Unexpected, that is for certain. I don't know yet what to make of it.

I wonder if they know who their father is... They're too young to even open their eyes, after all.

[omnomspecimens]

I'm certain they can sense it, if they've taken on any of my traits at all.

[He finally reached down, stroking one of his sons gently along the head.]

[The kitten can't even mew properly, so instead it just presses into the touch, wriggling a little.]

I really hope they don't have your powers.

[omnomspecimens]

[...why was that cute? Why did he find that cute. This was ruining his reputation as a mad genius.]

It's too early to tell, really.

[Don't worry, Szayel, Liquid won't tell anyone.]

I'll have to keep a close eye on them then, until I know for sure either way.

You probably won't find out until sometime after they start walking.

...though if they start walking sooner than they should, you should be concerned.

And why is that? Or dare I even ask?

[He perched on the edge of the bed, still cradling the smaller kitten, which wriggled pitifully.]

Because they might have inherited my intelligence.

...in which case, they will start coming into whatever powers they possess quickly.

...oh joy. Super-intelligent magical kittens.

I don't know whether to shudder or be exhilerated at the challenge this will bring.
