Alice likes to go out for at least part of the day, mostly during Rabbit's work with the other rabbits at the manor. It's nicer to come home and spend time with him and the others, though she still hasn't grown very close to anyone. Instead, she holes herself up in the library as long as she needs to go through the books there. She would still prefer picture books, but... Well, she has had to grow up, certainly.

Today, she wanders out to the museum to see what all she's missed during these years. It's startling and jarring to see the pictures and the information, and it takes her quite a time to make her way through the building.

She finally gets to the Ancient Egypt section and she finds herself almost startled at one of the mummies. "Oh," she murmurs, speaking to herself mostly. "They shouldn't put you by the door. You're liable to startle visitors!"

He doesn't immediately recognize the young lady's voice as she remarks on the mummy near him. But that doesn't stop him from looking over his shoulder to give her a small, slightly shy smile.

"At least it's not cursed or it would just talk back to you, then."

She sets her hands on her hips and looks the mummy in the eye. Or...really, in the eye sockets.

"That might be a curious thing. I wonder what stories he would have to tell me. They might be sad, but quite interesting!" Alice looks over at him. "Don't you think?"

"Tales of an ancient yet glorious civilization..." Daniel remarks, looking a little thoughtful. "And he's well-preserved, too. He must have been very rich."

"And old. He must have died of old age, though his expression says otherwise." Alice looks him over, stepping back to get a better look. "Well preserved and quite chilling."

Daniel gives her a somewhat confused look. "I don't believe people would have lived for so long, back then. Then again," He looks back at the mummy. "What might be considered young in this age must be considered old in that age."

"Yes, it says here he was...twenty-five." Alice looks down at the information. "A shame. That's awfully young for this day and age."

"Ah, it's no wonder then that the grand tombs were ordered to be constructed at the start of their reign. Or was it at the time of the future pharaoh's birth?" He scratches his head - he should know this!

"You know a great deal about Egyptian history," she says, wandering from her place to go look at the sarcophagus nearby and to admire the print and gold. "Did you study at a university?"

"I have a lot of notes," He holds up his journal, which was stuffed with pages that had been ripped out and displayed a leather cover that had some stains of blood and oil.

"It might sound strange, but I don't actually remember..."

Alice turns to look back at him and her eyes fall upon the journal. And normally, she may have told him that yes, it did sound strange... Hadn't she heard this before somewhere? She frowns.

"Pardon my rudeness, but what is your name?"

He peers at the sarcophagus before scribbling a few details into his journal.

"Daniel."

...Ah. And that would be why.

"Alice Liddel, Daniel. We spoke on the...network before, I believe. Is that right?"

He gives a start, nearly dropping his things in the process. "Alice! Oh, excuse me, I didn't recognize your voice!"

She shakes her head. "No, no, it's quite all right. I didn't recognize yours either. You needn't be sorry." She gives him a faint smile. "History interests you?"

Smiles again, still shy. "Archaeology, to be exact. I used to be an archaeologist."
