Who: Roxas and the Vanitas Remnant
When: Just after siren 7/11
Where: Sector 3
Summary: What's left of Vanitas seeks out mindless violence. Roxas flees for his life.
Warning: Violence.
Things were starting to get back to normal. Namine was still gone, but Joe seemed to be dealing with it okay, and they didn't have to constantly train to battle enemies. Roxas could put more time in at Kahve, and did. It felt good-even when it was grosser work, like cleaning the drains, it was productive and taking care of something that was his. He liked that.
Tonight he was the last one out, locking up the the store shortly before siren. It was a nice night despite the light rain that had appeared off and on. A cool respite from the heat.
He began walking at a sedate pace, enjoying the cooler air even as the first siren rang out. Monsters would begin appearing soon, but he wasn't worried. Actually, the thought gave him pause. There was an excess of energy running through him that had nothing to do with caffeine. It might be good to work it off in a fight, maybe cut down on the local Heartless population that might be growing now that their monstrous king had shown his face. And it was Joe's night off, wasn't it? He should give him a call.
Roxas didn't let himself be completely distracted as he began typing a text message to his friend. Even the easily-beaten monsters were dangerous if you let your guard down. He stayed alert, ready to put the NV away and fight if he had to.
But he wasn't alert enough for what came next.
