It seems like Gazille and Julian were just meant to keep running into each other. Whether the Dragon Slayer was only on his break or just getting off of work was to be determined, but one thing was for sure was that he was out having his kicks in the darkness. It was around then that he noticed the commotion nearby and the flashes of green light through the haze of filth. It had taken him a little while to get used to picking through the stench of night but his senses were keen enough to catch the more subtle hints of familiar creatures, in this case people.

He'd been around the kid enough to remember his scent, much like a blood hound, the smallest of signatures on the wind tipped him off through the odor of the monsters surrounding him. So he made his way quickly through the shadows and grime to go help thin the crowd a little. Gazille made short work of a few smaller creatures, turning his limbs into steel clubs and bashing them till they crumbled onto the pavement. A larger, uglier, and most of all FAT monster of some sort was lumbering through to get at Julian, throwing it's comrades aside like an over weight American rushing a Buffet.

The Iron Mage was quick to leap up onto the things shoulders with a wild laughter, "GEHIHIHI!" echoing off the walls of the buildings as he thrust his club arm down upon it's head. It thrashed and twisted, too distracted now by the man on it's back. But it only took a few blows to knock the thing to the ground in a fleshy heap.

Gazille's skin rippled with steel scales, the tips of his fingers growing into sharpened metal claws. The narrow slits of his piercing red eyes tightened as his toothy grin widened. He dove into the crowd, lashing out at anyone he could, green energy reflecting off his shiny armored skin. He ducked, bobbed and weaved through the monsters, doing his best to stay out of Julian's path. The scales mirrored the night around him, making him more like a blur as he moved. The risk of being confused as a hostile was certainly there, but Gazille was too confident to bother with his own safety. Though he was fairly relieved to see that there were others joining the fray as well.

The worst part about this place according to Frau was definitely what he was currently wading through. The endless stream of monsters with souls so corrupt that he doubted even a bascule would be able to free them. Good thing he had a different method.

Numbers weren't the problem. Even the fact that he had to use the scythe wasn't a problem. The problem was that he had this feeling deep down inside that told him he couldn't free these people, if they could still be called that. He didn't like it. Zehel and the scythe were supposed to be able to sever any bond, yet here he was unable to do that for more than a single night. Not a pleasant thought.

Frau slashed the scythe through another ground of darkness creatures before stilling, head snapping in the direction of Julian and the others. Those weren't corrupted souls. He snapped the scythe up and around to cut another creature coming from behind him in half and then bounded off.

Before long he landed lightly on the roof of a building where he could look down at the battle below. It seemed there were more than 2 people out tonight. He paused to watch since they seemed to have things generally under control. While he would never admit to it, Frau knew eventually he was going to end up exhausted. Might as well save his strength until it was needed. He could move in at any time.

Really hope everyone thought to track this or something... ex_julianhe July 2 2011, 01:56:57 UTC
One minute, Julian had been fighting alone. Wave after wave of telekinetic force was flowing from his hands and apparently lighting up the night, since it wasn't long before the darkness monsters weren't the only ones getting reinforcements. Fireworks and the flashing of metal announced Jubilee's arrival, and he barely had time to nod a hurried 'Yeah' to her before Deadpool appeared too. Deadpool was pretty much a flash of red, managing to wisecrack his way through the group of enemies. Somewhere in the midst of all the fighting, Julian kept thinking he could see his powers lighting up something a lot more metallic than any of the darkness monsters could conjure up, but he couldn't be sure. If there was someone on their side fighting in the middle of that throng, they had to be either crazy or brilliant. Maybe a little of both.

"Hey, the more the merrier," he told the Merc, while side-stepping an advance from one of the bigger, animal-shaped zombie guys. His powers lashed out right away, taking a deliberate hold of the thing that had tried to rush him and throwing it far into the distance. He had no idea where it would land, but he threw it hard and hoped that landing would be painful. "These guys have a serious attitude problem."

They're seriously stubborn too. With more than one person fighting them, their attention was divided and they seemed distracted. They still didn't seem to be hurting as much from his telekinesis as usual, but he could deal with that. He pushed them, threw them, rained punches and kicks on them when that didn't work, and still they were resilient as hell. It was working for them, too; he was still shielding his back on a constant basis, but he had to drop the protection around his front every time he wanted to physically hit one of them. Which, given that this was Julian, he wanted to do quite a lot. The cut on his cheek wasn't the only one they'd managed to mark him with, and every time they got through to him it made him angrier.

"God damn it!" One of them had just landed a blow on his shoulder, and in quick succession found itself on the ground, out cold as a result of the orb-like wave of Teke expanded out and rushed to make it regret bothering him.] "I hate these guys. What the hell is their deal?" That was asked in a sort of general way even though he knew that no one seemed to know the the Darkness was all about.

I did! Thankfully! thelittlestbub July 2 2011, 02:10:32 UTC
Jubilee barely caught the yeah. She had a tongue wrapped around the metal in her hand and she closed her eyes and blew the thing to hell. Her powers were destructive, but that could be useful. And it wasn't like she never used them for mundane reasons - hey she never had to look for a flashlight.

She took a blow to the back and went stumbling forward (thank god she was in the habit of wearing her uniform home!) and went sliding between the legs - which got shot off - of another. She bumped into Deadpool. "Hey Wade!" She said, and ran up another fire escape. She needed another club.

This time she dangled from the fire escape, using deadly precision (thank you Danger Room, Biosphere, and Wolverine and Cyclops!) to take out a few heads before she dropped, using her entire weight to drive the one piece of metal into the head of another thing.

"Zombies, dude. Don't tell me you never ran that scenario?" Scott wouldn't run it. Scott was afraid of zombies. A quick PAF and she shoved another one back.

... Had she hit that guy? "Sorry!"

They seemed to be doing alright down below, but Frau didn't really have time to keep watching. He had his own guests to deal with. He glanced back over his shoulder where he was surrounded by monsters, all of them quite willing to try and tear him to pieces in a second.

"Tch. Have to do this the hard way, huh?"

Frau whirled and slashed through a few of them with the scythe, but he was going to get overrun. There was only so much room on a room.

"Dammit!" He roared as a few of them bounded off the roof, aiming for the ground below where the others were already fighting. He launched himself off the roof, hurtling toward the ground and taking out a few as he went. There was no way he'd let these things take out the others, even if he didn't know them. They needed a warning, and with the new inflow from above, some help too.

"Heads up! You've got company."

I totally did not track this. M'bad guys. the_dead_pool2 July 4 2011, 01:18:54 UTC
Staying in one place didn't make much sense in a fight like this, unless you were the Juggernaught. Though honestly that guy was kind of lame, so he'd stick with his plan. It was all about quick slashes and moving out of the way to avoid getting bogged down, the one negative to having a lot of guys around was that things got bunched up in places and numbers stopped meaning as much.

He waved to Julian. "Totally dude, like you have to bring wine or a fruit cake or something--" a quick and large whack which sent him sprawling interrupted him talking, and sent him into a wall.

"Yeah, thats broken, ooo thats just not in the right place" Deadpool said to himself as he worked quickly to reset things quickly before getting back into the swing of things. Jubilee gave him a friendly hello as she mounted a fire escape to get a better vantage point.

"Oh hey there boom girl, its not a party without fireworks" he said ducking low to the same monster which tried the same thing again. "Yeah, how about no and sword to your face!" The sword to the face proved effective, as often it did. Now that he could concentrate on getting back into the thick of things, not that it was particularly hard.

Then he heard a "heads up" coming from above, he sheathed the sword with one quick moment and took out his guns. He spied where the non-zombiesque person and made a note not to shoot them. It was moments like these where he shone, this was his element, he didn't have to have social graces, or even really censor himself.

"SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIENDS! " he shouted loudly as he began headshotting the group coming down on them in rapid succession. It was a little overdone, but someone needed to say it, truly.

Gazille had found himself somewhere behind Julian, making his way towards him slowly but surely. While the other two seemed be doing just fine on the other side of the crowd, the Dragon Slayer figured he may as well take some of the focus off of Julian's backside so he could face the ones in front of him properly. Divided attention was kind of a bitch in a group situation like this.

The Dragon Slayer was hacking his way through the crowd of monsters with his right arm turned into a large, serrated blade. He had the edges literally moving like that of a chainsaw, so not only was he batting the creatures away, but they were flying out of his path in pieces. Unfortunately by the time he'd reached Julian the crowd had closed in behind him.

He didn't bother with a greeting or anything, he just stood at Julian's back, being sure to stay away from the glowy green energy currently protecting him. He shifted his stance as his shiny, metal cheeks puffed up and raised his free hand to his mouth. A powerful whirlwind of shrapnel burst forth and shredded any creatures currently in front of him, clearing his path once more and leaving a good deal of wreckage in his wake.

It was about then that the heads up caught his attention and he turned to look back up at the falling monsters. Cursing under his breath and being careful of the kids position at his back, he swung his bladed arm at any fallen monsters, or bodies... seeing as some of them were headless by the time they fell to the ground, making sure to at least bat them out of the way.

So those flashes of metal had been Gazille. Julian was only sure of this when the Dragon Slayer appeared behind him and unleashed a maelstrom of awesome on the guys trying to surround them. Okay so, bad guys everywhere, but he couldn’t let that pass without comment.

“Jesus Christ, that was good. Nice hit Gaz-“

He got cut off when Deadpool was blasted past him into a wall. Jubilee had jumped onto a balcony somewhere and everyone seemed to be flying around him to the extent that it was difficult to keep track of which monsters were still fighting and which ones had just had their heads blown off. For a minute, it seemed like the tide was turning.

And then there was a shout from above and there was some kind of scythe whipping around and a whole new batch of uglies were on the way.

“Oh, fu…”

Well, Julian wasn’t staying on the ground to wait for the zombie rain. Sometimes these situations required a little more perspective. The green aura around him got stronger and he raised himself into the air, keeping shielded in case one of those stray bullets hit him. Or one of the shrapnel pieces. Or one of Jubilee’s fireworks. It was chaos down there, and that suited the monsters. Knocking them back with sheer force isn’t working, there’s just too many of them for that. So he changes his tactic and starts using his telekinesis to bind them instead. If they can’t rush and scatter, they’ll make a much better target. So he focuses on trying to force them into a kind of central mass, ripe for shooting and explosions and whatever.

She'd forgotten.

Bad things happen, go work it off.

Shit goes down, go work it off.

People around you leave, betray you, whatever: Go Work It Off.

It was something that had helped her through a lot of things. Her parents' deaths, Logan's constant leaving her, Ev dying, Ange dying. Killing zombies was probably more therapeutic for her than any year spent in therapy.

Maybe later, she'd finally be able to cry.

Twirling the rebar over her head, Jubilee sent sparks up, flinging yet another one back and used the metal to knock the legs out from under another.

She took a hard hit from the side when someone else sent a thing flying and slammed into a dumpster.

She was a bit slower getting up that time.

Well, it seemed like these guys were certainly capable of holding their own. Frau smirked and snapped his scythe in an easy circle to slice any monsters close by in half. He darted back a few steps when the spraying metal sent a few turning tail. Since he was sending off long range blasts of, well, anything a good chunk aimed for him.

"Do I look like a pushover to you? Heh. Wish to God."

One bound and they were in scrap on the ground with the others nearby. Even with everything they were taking out, more kept coming. Sooner or later they weren't going to be so lucky.

He spotted Jubilee go down out of the corner of his eye. She seemed alright since she was getting up, but she'd be mobbed before long. Frau darted her way and barely managed to avoid a hit from the side. He snapped up a zaiphon shield to protect himself from worse hits and continued to her side. Frau gave her a brilliant smile and cleared away a few to give her some time to get up.

"Not bad."
