It was a cloudy day and rather cool outside, but that hadn't been about to stop Haruhi from embarking on her adventure. It had been delayed enough -- as Haruhi's plans always tended to be, taking longer than planned -- and it had been a week or so since her original inspiration. Now, however, schedules and stars were aligned alike and Haruhi dragged her impromptu non-brigade (brigands?) to the edge of the shore, where a boat whose rickety condition hardly inspires confidence was waiting for them.
The Pull was pretty strong out here, but Haruhi for one was determined to battle through the discomfort. The lighthouse beckoned across the grey and stormy seas, with sprays of white water and wrecked bits of rotting wood mixing together, looking aloof in just the way a lighthouse should-- if your mind worked like Haruhi's, anyway.
"All right!" She turned to her waiting, loyal, compliant minions -- or something like that. "Is everyone ready to set out?"
