[ In retrospect, Yako reflects, going out to see the haunted lighthouse had been a terrible idea.
While the experience had provided little more than the scare of a lifetime and an accumulation of a few bruises and scratches she wouldn't soon forget, that's currently the least of her concerns. The nightmares that came afterwards are what are turning out to be the real problem. She's lost count of the times she's woken with her heart pounding and sweat soaking into her sheets, straining for something that isn't there.
Naturally, Yako's not one to keep her hands idle when she can put them to better use. The kitchen of the Rainsworth household is filled with the sound of clinking dishes late into the night as Yako spends her time cooking, warding off sleep with the smell of soy sauce and rice vinegar. Normally, she'd be able to consume all that food herself. Unfortunately, with her stomach still unpredictable as it is-- she can't.
Instead, she's taken to packing up the food into separate plastic containers and bringing them around with her. It's suddenly rather common to see Yako Katsuragi lugging around a big bag of packed lunches, these days, though she also happens to look increasingly tired as her sleeplessness catches up with her. If you know her or work with her, there's a good chance you might find yourself on the receiving end of her culinary efforts. ]
