Who: OPEN to anyone and everyone in Siren's Port!
When: June 19th, 8AM-6PM
Where: Crow's Head Beach
Summary: June's been a busy month, and busier for some. It's time to chill out and relax at the beach in the company of good friends and better company. Stick around for the talent s how afterwards: there might be something worth watching.
Warnings: None, but will be updated as necessary!
For the first time this week, the temperature is finally something that justifies going out to the beach in less than a cardigan. Locals and Newcomers alike mingle on the beach, most having brought their own equipment such as towels and umbrellas.
Over to one end of the beach is a simple, raised platform, where the talent show is to be held. It's not a fancy setup, and it's evidently placed so that the audience can sit on their towels on the beach and see the performances from there. Later, when the time for the powered competition rolls around, the power dampeners will be set up to make sure nothing goes (too) awry... though that's not the only thing to watch out for.
There's a section of the beach set aside for cooking, where the barbecue is in full swing. Despite being billed as a Newcomer-only event, there are locals who've been drawn to the spectacle. Apparently Yako's wasted no time in coaxing, begging, or cajoling them into lending the use of their portable grills in exchange for getting a pick of some of the food. There's pretty much every imaginable thing that can be thrown onto a grill (and a few things that probably can't, but have been thrown onto there anyway).
Two buffet tables have been lined up away from the cooking area to hold all the plates and utensils; aside from all the meat, there's a selection of tossed salads and other side dishes. There are drinks available, both alcoholic and otherwise (though nothing too strong, for obvious reasons). There's even a bored-looking ice cream peddler who looks like he's seriously wondering what he's doing here. There isn't any place to sit except on the beach, though there are a few lounge chairs and giant umbrellas that people can choose to make use of if they didn't bring their own.
Local teenagers have set up a beach volleyball court not too far from the end of the barbecue, and seem to be looking for a challenge-- though no one's picked a fight, yet. There are other activities to do on the beach for those who let themselves be drawn away from the party.
All in all, it's chaos-- but relatively fun-looking chaos, regardless.
