How to Break a Heart

Jun 01, 2011 17:01

Who: Sherlock Holmes and Master Xehanort
When: 6/1, late afternoon
Where: The DtD-- no for real, just Xehanort's house.
Summary: Sherlock, lacking the powers of light, decides to make progress in the fight against Terranort in his own way. This involves breaking into the house again in search of more evidence of just what the old man plans to do. Unfortunately, this time he's caught in the act and has to deal with the consequences while Xehanort finally meets who stole his February files.
Warnings: Violence, I guess. PG-13 stuff here. Dramatic weather merely a coincidence.

It wasn't as easy to get past the barrier this time. Sherlock had been scouting the ominous old house for several days now, looking for a weakness in its defenses. So far the only blip seemed to be jumping through a darkness portal left by one of the occupants. It wasn't an option he liked, having travelled that way the last time he was here. Unfortunately, there was no time to be picky. If Xehanort's power wasn't such a looming threat, Sherlock would have taken more time to plan this down to the last detail. As things were, he had to take this chance. While he still preferred London to this mess of a town, he wasn't quite so callous to just let it all go up in smoke. Or perhaps he just had unfinished business.

Either way, there was only seconds before the path would close, and the greater risk that his heart would be detected (Of all the things--). Risks were something he relished, fortunately, and the cloud cover of the day allowed him to move more freely without being seen. Before he could properly register it, the portal spit him out into an empty sitting room. Not graceful, but it got the job done. Now he only had to find the lab again.
