Summary: These two are overdue for a chat. And the start of a reconciliation.

The problem with making a promise, to himself if no one else, that he would check in on Merlotte's for Sam meant he felt honour bound to keep it - even if there where people inside he'd rather not see. Sometimes it was the patrons - no one had ever accused him of being overly social. Other times, it was certain people. He was aware Griffin worked there. He wasn't sure what to say or do to begin to repair the damage done.
But he was all right with slinking in, avoiding trouble, checking up on the place, and spending a little money.
