She slipped into the ICU and opened Magneto's door. She pulled the blinds, just like a doctor or nurse would. Then, she slid up to the side of the bed and touched his shoulder. "Mags." She whispered. Jubilee was out stealing. She'd only stopped here because powers were back to normal and he would want to know that. A small PAF hovered over her shoulder, offering the only illumination outside of the machines monitoring him.

When he eyed the paf, he tapped the bracelets together, shivering as his powers, HIS powers kicked back on. Almost immediately, the monitors changed. His heart rate lowered and evened, his blood pressure dropped, his breathing slowed. Instead of reading what one would except for a badly inured old man, they were those of an extremely in shape athlete. Even his frame seemed to fill out, bulkier and more well built. He closed his eyes and blinked them open, focusing.
"There's a radio frequency missing. SERO?" His voice was soft, curious.
Reply
"I don't know. SERO claims they fixed something." She shrugged. "All I know is that everything is back. My powers have calmed down. Had to come see if yours were back." She pulled the bag off her shoulder and dug through it. First came out his own pajamas, his robe, his cape, and with a soft ting... the helmet. "Brought you a few things from home that I thought would make your stay a bit more comfortable."
That? That's a shit eating grin.
Reply
"I'll be home in a few days, at most. But thank you." It was no longer an option otherwise. Even still, the helmet and the cape broke a wave of relief over him, almost as much as having his powers back.

After all, she had a flannel shirt on underneath her uniform.
"You're still not coming home until they say you can, but I thought you'd feel better having a few things from home." Jubilee rearranged things in her bag.

He held up his hand and crackled electricity around his fingers, it jumping over the splints, almost dancing. "I'll be home sooner, now." Mutants were hardier than humans, and it wasn't that they all had a 'healing factor' - but a fifty year old Mutant in the prime of health, combat scars aside, healed much faster than an eighty year old human.
"Household back to normal?"
Reply
"For the most part. Franklin is starting to question why he doesn't have his powers, and I don't have an answer for him." She shrugged. "I think a few people are still staying, but other than that, everything seems to have calmed down." She reached over and touched his shoulders. "Take it slow anyhow, Michael. No need to rush anything."
Reply
"Tell him they just take time to come back on, like how if we pull a muscle it needs time to heal." That was about the only way he knew to explain the 'burn out' factor among Mutants.
"I'm not rushing. I'll be fine, especially now, and you well know it. There's not a thing they can do here that we can't do at home." And he'd be less hostile at home.
Reply
"I think it'll be worth more coming from you. I'm older, but there are things I don't know and he knows it." She shrugged. She didn't mind being ignorant of some things.
"I know, but there's nothing wrong with taking an extra day or three to let them keep an eye on you." Jubilee shook her head. "Consider it a vacation." She smirked.
Reply
Despite the rightness that he felt, his powers were charging - surging - though him after being dead for a week. It was a little uncomfortable, pins and needles all over. "Tell him to ask when he comes to visit."
"This? Is not a vacation. A vacation is a beach, with sunbaked sand, a drink that mirrors the sunset, and the air so heavy with the scent of flowers you can taste it."
Reply
"I'll tell him."
She grinned at him. "Ah, the beach. A wonderful place to be. I even have a bikini that needs a good workout. The problem? This is as close as you're going to get for a while." A gentle poke to the shoulder. "Because you're not trying anything like this again. Understand?"

He gave her a measured look. She acted like this was the first time. As far as she probably knew, it was. He couldn't imagine Charles sharing his ravings about having nothing left to do but die. "I'll be all right Jubilee. Really."
Reply
She rolled her eyes at his look. "I know you will." Jubilee shrugged. "That doesn't mean you should push so hard. I've got the house under control, Raul Creed sends his best wishes, there's nothing life threatening going on, no one's destroyed anything, powers have gone back to normal, I ended up with a naked guy in my lap, I might be breaking up with Light - don't ask - and everything's pretty much status quo." She took a deep breath. "So use this time. Use it to get better. You have the chance, and someone you can trust to hold onto things until you're completely better."
Reply
"Naked guy? Francis?" That amused him, very much. Not that he didn't understand.
He didn't really know how to explain that he didn't think there was a 'completely better'. There wasn't enough time in the world. Never had been a chance really. "Tell him thank you for me. I...I can't not push Jubilee. I just can't."
Reply
She watched him for a second. "I know. I'm just asking for you to take as easy as you can." She leaned her elbow on the bed, bracing her chin on her hand. "I know this is gonna sound stupid, but this is our chance to maybe take it easy. We have our problems sure, but they aren't ending the world, or hunting us." She smiled a bit. "Yet." That she could admit. "Maybe we should take advantage of it... and heal."
Jubilee wasn't talking physically, either.

For a moment, his stomach knotted. 'Heal'. He'd heard that before. With Magda and Anya, at the hospital in Haifa...each time had ended in violence and bloodshed. He wasn't sure relaxing was a good idea, and he wasn't sure he could heal. "It's something to think about."
