Where: A grocery store.

What: Severus needs some supplies. Just don't ask where he got the money from....
Severus Snape was a man who was awkward in Muggle clothing It was not that his clothing was ill fitting, for it fit him well. Perhaps it was that he was not used to the heavy weight of the denim material that wrapped around the lower portion of his body.
Whatever it was, the wizard (despite his best efforts to blend into his Muggle surroundings) stuck out like a sore thumb. It couldn't have helped that he refused to touch his trolley with any more than his index finger, surveying the groceries on the shelves with a disgusted look.
Very little looked familiar to him and what he did recognize were things he would never eat. Disgusting chocolate biscuits, candy bars, bloody packages of meat that looked to be past their prime. With a discontented sigh, Severus placed a large package of bottled water into the trolley, moving on to the next aisle. There was some fuss on the communications network about being forced to tell the truth - Severus knew nothing about it, but it certainly couldn't hurt to avoid the water supply in case it had been tampered with.
Once he'd finished this mundane task, he would perform a few tests on a glass of tap water. Veritaserum (if that was what was causing this) was not a substance that could easily be trace. However, Severus knew that he was far superior to any of the wizards that such a substandard country could produce. He was confident that, if it was a case of the water supply being poisoned, he would be able to recognise it.
