Rochelle, honestly, wasn't sure what to do about her newfound freak nightvision. But it was nice to get away from her new orange tinted world and the fact that she couldn't help staining everything around her with the shit that was coming out of her eyes.

She tried to mingle around, but she wound up literally standing here. Looking around, like a deer in the headlights. Because god, suddenly it was so nice to look at things from a normal perspective.

Neji stepped into the building, bristling as the feeling of cold washed over him and the world inverted, the veins around his eyes finally receding as color bled back into grayed vision and the chakra in his hands settled, no longer dangerous.

He moved inside, looking around properly now without a constantly fluctuating depth perception and caught sight of someone familiar, approaching with an edge of caution.

"Rochelle?" He had seen her around- most recently at the meeting with SERO and AGI in the Tower Apartments- but hadn't actually spoken with her since before her death. Of course, that was hardly an appropriate topic to bring up. "How are you faring?"

She looked up.

Oh, wow. There was a face she hadn't seen in a while.

He dipped his head in greeting. "Good afternoon. Has the Core's recent malfunction affected you as well?"

A tired smile slowly spread.

"Yeah, but you can't tell anymore, thank god. You too?"

"Unfortunately," he said with a nod, gesturing loosely to the interior. "While I'm not particularly fond of Voids, I've found it difficult to operate in a normal capacity without the intervention."

"How's that?" Rochelle asked with genuine curiousity. She settled in a chair to listen. It was a lot more interesting than just wandering around the room right now.

Still experiencing some discomfort with the loss of his abilities, he remained standing, considering the inquiry briefly.

"I couldn't touch anything without risking damage to it, and my vision didn't allow me to rest properly." A pause, and he decided to elaborate a little. "It's difficult to sleep when you can't stop seeing everything around you even when your eyes are closed. I'm not sure I managed it, as in the Darkness hours, the line between reality and dreams is difficult to draw."

She paused. This was sounding familiar.

"Sounds like me."

He tilted his head, curious, and recalled her previously budding ability. "It advanced that far?"

I forget if he ever told her about his abilities but I can edit this if need be!

Ro shook her head, then leaned back.

"I don't think it's anything like what you have. It's sort of like what I already have, what you helped me with? But now I can actually see things. I see people through walls, sort of. Like some kind of x-ray vision."

She gave a short snort. "The only thing is, everything looks like how everything ELSE looks like the Darkness grit and crap through my eyes. It doesn't help my eyes do this..." Her nose wrinkled. "Glowing shit sometimes either. Creepy glowing. They bleed sometimes too."

"It sounds somewhat similar. Can you see in a wide radius, or is it just in a direction you look in? It doesn't sound pleasant regardless and I can understand why you decided to come here instead, particularly if your eyes bleed..."

He frowned, unable to imagine why that might be associated with enhanced vision, but he didn't have too much faith in the Core when it came to granting abilities. From what he'd heard, they generally seemed to have a drawback of some sort.

"Although I could understand your hesitation, perhaps you should seek medical aid if it persists. It could be damaging your eyes."

"A direction I'm looking in." She sighed. "At least when I only sensed things I didn't have to have my powers on 24/7."

She shook her head. "I went to the hospital. They said other than... the obvious, there was nothing physically wrong with me."

One more sigh. "All I know is, when I'm not here? I look like the infected."

Neji grimaced, wincing as he could only imagine the feeling of his eyes bleeding and it'd surely be more than mildly unsettling. "That's unfortunate. I suppose it's good that there doesn't seem to be any risk to your eyes, however..." He'd examine her himself if he could, but it was highly unlikely he could do anything even if he did.

"What are the infected?"

Rochelle shook her head. She didn't know what to do. She really, REALLY didn't know what to do. Guessing all she could really do was hope to god she wasn't stuck this way.

"I just really, REALLY hope it's not permanent. I think that's the only reason I'm not freaking out as much as I could be." Which was a big fat lie. Weird shit was her usual. "But if everyone else is dealing with it, maybe it;s not...?"

And--oh. "Zombies."

A blink. Oh. "I heard something by that name attacked the city when I was in.. Around a holiday- Halloween I believe. From the reports I heard, they sounded far from pleasant." His little cell in SERO had been safe enough from that particular evening, however.

And not a good likeliness to compare to. "We're all hoping this isn't permanent, I'm sure you're just more unsettled because it sounds as though it advanced suddenly and uncontrollably due to the Core's interference. You'll have more control over it when this is over."

Although he doubted whether or not this was permanent, only limited previous experience with the Core's activity kept him somewhat optimistic on that end.
