Grell Sutcliff is making his way about the city in his usual fashion - that is to say, hopping from rooftop to rooftop. Rendering gravity a suggestion rather than an absolute law of nature is one of the tricks of the Death Gods. Finally reaching his destination, Grell alights from the roof, delicately sailing down ten stories. Hair and coattails fluttering, he's about to land lightly on the soles of his high-heeled, lace-up spectator pumps--
When, all of a sudden, he loses his Death God powers completely.
This might have made an end to Grell, his epitaph no more than an unsightly splat! on the sidewalk - except he's gained a new power: shapeshifting. In a moment of unconscious self-preservation, he transforms into something that will generally land on its feet.
A cat.
