Ahiru normally ate her dinner in her room, but tonight she'd been preoccupied playing with the ducks - it was later than normal when she wandered towards the kitchen in search of a salad. As she passed through the dining hall, she saw Ciel sitting at the table. Even if she didn't spend much time in the room, she knew this was a rare sight.

The second thing she noticed was a plate of unfamiliar food in front of him. It didn't seem like pork, or beef, or any kind of meat she'd seen before... Curiosity drove her towards him, and she tilted her head as she stared at the strange dish.

"What are you eating?"

"Hm?" He looked up from his plate briefly, surprised to see the girl. "Oh, Foie Gras. It's rather good."

"Fo- Foi-" She said, trying to imitate his pronunciation of the word, before she gave up after a few seconds and settled with a question instead.

"What's that?"

"Fatty duck liver."

A pause.

There wass a long, long pause, as her eyes grew wider and her mouth hung open and the most horrified expression possible crossed her face. For one brief moment, sheer shock overtook her common sense, and that was all it took.

"Q-Quack?!"

Right after the sound had left her mouth, she clamped a hand onto her face, but the effort came too late. There was a warm glow all around her, and then she fell to the ground, buried underneath all the clothes she had been wearing.

The look on her face is a little disconcerting, but the sound that comes out of her mouth makes Ciel's own eye go wide. Even more startling is the warm glow until, well, the girl disappeared completely, leaving her clothes behind.

Immediately Ciel stood from the table (not before stuffing the last bite in his mouth of course) peering over at the pile of clothes, horrified.

"A...Ahiru?!"

After a split second, she began to panic a little, and she shifted around hurriedly under the pile of her clothing as she tried to escape. Then, she paused for a moment; Ciel was right there - what if he had seen? Quickly, she began to walk in the opposite direction, using the clothes as a cover. Unfortunately, she tripped over the fabric multiple times, and each time, she tripped and hit the ground with a loud quack.

The movement caught his eye before Ciel went to pull the clothes up off of...a duck?

"...Ahiru? Is that you?"

She froze as her cover was suddenly taken away from her, before she heard the voice and turned around slowly to face the boy. Her pendant still rested around her neck, even after she had changed forms.

"Quack..."

Slowly...very slowly...Ciel crouched down, opening his hands to her, swallowing slightly. "...Can you talk?"

She took a few hesitant steps into his hands as she looked up into his face. She shook her head back and forth at the question, hoping he understood somehow.

There was a hesitant swallow before he nodded. "I'm going to lift you up, okay? We're going to go back to your room."

She shook her head again, suddenly nervous - if he put her in her room and shut the door when she was like this, she might not even be able to reach the doorknob, let alone manage to turn it! She paused, then, trying to figure out a good way to pantomime water.

"Ah, that's not a good idea is it?" She did seem rather nervous...all of a sudden. "Maybe I can put you in the sink until we figure something out?"

Yes. She nodded frantically and waved her wings in agreement.

Well, that seemed like a yes to him. Bending down he held her gently to his chest, trying his best to gather up her clothes in the other arm. Looking cautiously side to side, Ciel did his best to look, well, inconspicuous.

Even if it would seem rather suspicious holding a bundle of girl's clothing in one arm and a duck in the other.
