[OPEN LOG] The dancers' bumping, the piano's thumping.

Mar 28, 2011 17:34

Who: OPEN to all Staff & Clientele, plus some Guest Star NPCs!
When:  Tuesday, March 29th  - 10:00pm
Where: Merlotte's Bar & Grille
Summary: Don your fedoras and flapper dresses! It's Roaring 20's/Speakeasy theme night at the club, but things get even a little more gangster than bargained for when Afterglow Inc. agents show up at the back door, demanding cash from the till.
Warnings: Quite possibly a shootout, or some powers in action? ACTION SEQUENCES FOLKS! Also booze and jazz. Open tag sequences, so start your own threads, hop on others- expect an NPC-journal pop-in when there's trouble.

It's a Tuesday- Which means theme night. Which means you might be waved on in without cover charge, if you show up in the right period costumes.

Gin drinks are on special tonight. The staff have swapped out their uniforms for these snappy outfits, and a piano/upright bass/drums jazz trio called Hush Money has taken the stage.

And it's a better turn out than Disco Night, by the looks of it! All things considered, you'd never know the bar's owner had been taken away by an AGI agent only six days before- in fact, some whispers among the night club crowd may have even garnered the place a bigger following. Sam had his loyalists, and once the word had gone out, even some of the old 24 regulars started showing up in support.

...Joe was determined, since it seemed like the only right thing to do now was to run the place right. For Tifa and for Nami, his other cowokers, and definitely for Sam, the namesake bar couldn't go under now. Even if AGI was leaving nasty phone messages about challenging their liquor licensing. But that really only made the tense-excitement of the prohibition-themed atmosphere a little more exciting, a little more loose and daring. A little more real with defiant bite, running the neutral club no matter what.

Sam never much cared for dance floors in his bar, but that seemed sort of essential here, so some of the tables had been...slightly rearranged, squeezing some room here and there.

And the music sounded good...but it would sound even better when Danny joined them to sing a little.
