[When Kadaj had called Snake up to tell him that Liquid was gone from the warehouse, Snake narrowed the list of possible causes down to a few. The most likely being that Liquid was just gone again, but running a close second was the possibility that Liquid wasn't answering because he was up to something.

So when Liquid showed up again without warning the next day, covered in blood, it's understandable that Snake might have come to the wrong conclusions.

This had led (predictably) to an argument. Followed (eventually) by an explanation. Which was followed (inevitably) by a fistfight. Not quite the normal order of things but no one would ever accuse either of the Twin Snakes of being normal anyway.

Liquid had gone and shut himself up in his room ever since. Snake had gone to catch up on the news in a particularly sour mood. Not much had changed since then. Snake's bruises had faded a bit, but his bad mood hadn't. There was little love lost between the two of them, true. But as much as he tried not to get too involved in the various power struggles going on in the city, part of Snake was still very much invested in protecting people. A group of crazies trying to kill a bunch of people for their own purposes...That's the sort of thing he should have been able to do something about, wasn't it?

Snake gave Liquid's door a critical look as he passed it on his way for a cup of coffee and it's natural companion, a cigarette. Almost like having the house to himself again. Not that he minded the peace and quiet, but from Liquid it could be damn unnerving.]
