After Evening Sirens - 4th thecrowingtobeMarch 4 2011, 19:54:54 UTC
He had shown up the morning after she said she was back. She said to stop by, but when he had she had been asleep. He found a place to sit and waited for a bit, invisible, not wanting to bother her. She looked like she needed the rest, that was for sure. After a bit he decided to leave but not before leaving a small folded up sketch near her bed, so she at least knew he did keep his word and showed up. It was a window with a view, or... better yet to state it was a drawing of a country window with a long vast view of an open field. Just pencil
( ... )
She was supposed to be resting, but what she was doing was reading under the covers with a PAF as a light. It wasn't too taxing and didn't let anyone know that she was up.
The tap at the door though had the PAF going out and her lying down like a little kid caught up after bedtime.
"I'm awake." Jubilee pushed herself up and flicked on the light. "Though, seeing you would be nice, Claudio." A grin. "I don't like the whole ghost thing you seem to like doing."
When she spoke he let out a little sigh, stepping clear into the room, trying not to chuckle at her comment. First, laying in bed like a child hiding the reading, then telling him to stop ghosting.
He did just that though, coming into full view, hoodie up, bag over his shoulder and sleeping gray cat just resting inside. He pulled his hood back and looked her over, coming in closer. "Yeah, well... didn't want to bother you if you were asleep. I keep coming back at odd times. Besides... this ghosting thing is a life saver."
He mostly did that because he was avoiding the older men, for a little bit. The incident with Sander Cohen and the group that went after him had him a little... guilty. But he hadn't talked much on that, if at all. Still, he'd wanted to see the girl.
"You... gonna be honest here, you look like hell, but seeing you 'round is a huge relief." He looked tired, a little worn out, but truly a lot more relived then anything else. Standing near by he glanced at a shoe, mumbling. "You really alright?"
Jubilee wondered what was wrong. She remembered that Claudio had died, and now, here he was. That could only be a good thing. She patted the bed, near her feet.
"I'm not the only one who looks like they need a good night's sleep."
Then she smiled a bit. "I'll be fine, Claudio. This is all because I lost too much weight and they have to feed me a lot of calories so that I not only get what I need, but start gaining what I lost." She watched him. "You need an ear?"
"Eh... been a crazy month is all. I was at the theatre before stopping in is all. I'll get some rest a lil later." He said while moving to take his bag off over his head, off his shoulder and carefully sit it so Apollo wasn't too disturbed, the small cat lazing in the bag, head poked out to watch them.
He took the offered seat a moment later, leaning on am arm as he gave her a smile. "I said I thought you needed to eat more. Now you have to deal with everyone fussing over you. Though if you need anything, or just an escape, let me know. I can ghost us out of here." It was in tease though, as he was pretty sure she needed this rest.
"Ear? Naw... I got two." He said, knowing full well what she meant. "I just wanted to check on you is all."
"Too many X-Men around. Crazy months are what we specialize in." Which, really, was true in a scary sort of way. She was just sorry that Claudio had gotten caught up in it.
"I'm eating!" Jubilee naturally protested. "I've got people bringing me food all the time." She grinned. "But if you're offering a jailbreak...."
She didn't comment on him not wanting to talk. God, she knew far too many people like that. Far, far too many.
"Here I am. Tubed up and underweight and grounded possibly forever... but I'm here."
[Forgive the extreme long wait, but i am back again and tagging. feel free to ignore it]
"More then just you X-men, I'd say. I think my whole house is a bit with the crazy, really." As much as she might try to blame her kind, he really managed to get himself deep in his own crazy. One way or another he would have been caught up in something.
It wasn't that he didn't want to talk. It was more that he just wasn't sure how to. Things were crazy and he wasn't sure who would be alright to speak to any of it on.
"How long do you think you'll be stuck in here like this? Can't someone find, I don't know, a healer or something to help? You're going to go crazy in here." He leaned there, watching her a moment longer, then smiling faintly. "Saying you had me worried is kind of dumb though, huh? I figure you had everyone worried."
