It wasn't her fault, in her defense. She'd barely spent that much time in the living room and had used it mostly for storing things that she didn't know what to do with. She'd let the entire thing get very much out of control in the two weeks Break had been gone, completely failing at just about anything.

The commotion brought her out from the kitchen though. She'd been cooking - if reheating something could be called that - but that brought her into the living room, wooden spoon in hand, eyes immediately finding the intru --

"Break." It wasn't exactly a warm welcoming, and it shook very slightly, a confused mixture of anger and relief in that single murmur of his name.

It was quite amazing to see this happen, for when back in Pandora, Break pretty much relied on Liam to take care of most everything he did, so it was strange to see him pull his weight and look after his Mistress for a change. Only... he hadn't been looking after her at all, had he? Hence her current poor state.

To the sound of footsteps, Break pushed himself up from the floor, holding his head where he'd bumped it. Still a little dizzy don't you know. Looking up and over towards her, though she was nothing more than a shadow to his failing eyes.

"Aaah~ Miss Sharon, have we forgotten the correct place in which to store our books? Unless I am mistaken, I don't recall there being a romance section here on the floor?"

He knew he was pushing it, talking to her as if nothing had happened.

"I've not forgotten anything," Sharon said, every bit the same little lady that she had always been. Partly to Break but mostly to other people. There had always been something about Break, who'd known her for so long, that had made her bring down her walls and pretenses around him more than with others.

Today, however, was not one of those days. "Being alone in this house has, perhaps, put me slightly out of the habit of putting things in their correct places."

Ow... that hurt. The reality of his little plots and plans sinking in by the pleasant tone of her voice mixed with words that meant more than they should. Break was guilty of many a thing in his time here, cheating the casino out of the small fortune he's acquired in order to by this house they lived in,in the first place. Guilty of lumbering Gilbert with far more stress and regrets than was humanly possible for one man to shoulder alone, and most recently, guilty of leaving the one person in this whole place that he should strive to protect, alone and vulnerable in his absence. What would Shelly have said had she been here ( ... )
