[ She honestly was surprised -of all the people to show up, Axel was the one to rescue her from that place. But she couldn't be ungrateful. She was out. She'd been too tired to argue or question much, arms wrapped tightly around herself as she'd followed Axel to wherever he was leading her. ]

Huh? [ A glance to the taller Nobody, and then a solemn nod. ] Oh.... yeah. I'm fine. [ Another pause again, and seeming to realize where they were, she puzzled. ] ... this isn't the way home. Where are we going?

You can go home if you want them to catch you again by this time tomorrow. [He's watching their surroundings, listening for anything that might be bold enough to decide they're prey. Every now and then his fire flares up in the darkness around them, warning the monsters away. Slavers aren't the only hunters in the city.] They put a chip in you. They'll know where you are unless somebody digs it out, and I doubt you want me doing the job.

Honestly, Kairi, how do you get yourself into these messes?

A chip!? [ That would explain the soreness, but she'd thought that was from the rough manhandling. Each time the fire warns the monsters away, Kairi startled a bit, glancing in their direction, and then hurried along again. ]

... [ Yeah, NO RIPPING CHIPS OUT OF HER FLESH AXEL. ] How do I - I don't ask to get kidnapped. [ A bit offended at that - but at least it's with a flash of her usual fire still there. ]

Well, I'm just saying, maybe it's something you need to work on. [He's keeping at her pace because she's had it rough, and there's no real hurry, anyway, unless you're worried about raving Darkness monsters slathering at their heels. But if she keeps pausing to be startled, he's going to end up dragging her along.] You might try not being so stunted, that could help. Or maybe there's just some 'kidnap me' signal you're projecting?

[Luckily Skye Medical's close, only a few blocks away. They seem to have a decent staff of outsiders. He'd trust them farther than any other hospital in the city--which isn't saying much, but they don't have many other options.]

[ She just gives him a flat look at that first. Something she needs to work on. Yyyyyyyeah. You're lucky she's standing or she would kick you in the kneecap. Also, no dragging. D: Not needed, really! ]

Stunted!? I'd rather be stunted than a beanpole. [ GOSH Axel. ] And I doubt there's any kind of signal being projected. [ Unless it just came from being a Princess, and that was pretty likely. ] If there is, there's not much I can do about that. [ Till she gets training in how to fight, which she is totally going to look into here on out. ]

Stunted like a garden gnome. Maybe you should eat more. [It's good to see she hasn't lost her spark.] At least beanpoles like me aren't always in need of rescue.

[Though it is unusual to see a bean pole like him doing the rescuing. He lets fire trail in their wake as they approach the front steps of Skye, the better to discourage anyone or anything from following them in.] C'mon. This shouldn't take long, I'd hope.

[Given the city, when Erik takes up 'door duty' he scans it the outside with infra-red, rather than visual sight. The fire is bright enough to blink and enough throws a shield around him as he goes out to find out what's going on.]

Need some help?

[ Man, even when he's being helpful he's a jerk. :I Maybe Princesses bring it out in him. Even if she stifled a grin at that comment. Stunted like a garden gnome? Really? ]

If I eat more, I'm not going to get taller, I'll get wider and then I'll just be a pretty pumpkin. And yes, they are. You're in need of rescue from low ceilings.

[ So there. Hearing the new voice though, Kairi tenses, squinting a bit at Magneto first, and then looking up at Axel. It's your show, "hero". ]

I don't think so. Low ceilings don't stand a chance against me.

[Axel glances up too--this guy looks suitably doctor-esque, and he's pretty sure he's seen him around the network before. He plants a hand on Kairi's back and pushes her forward; his show, maybe, but she's the guest star.]

She does. Medical attention and all that. I'd rather get into it in private, if you don't mind.

[Erik nods, and ushers them inside - he can, at least in part, guess the problem and is glad there isn't a waiting line at the moment so he will be able usher them through triage and into a private room.]

Not a problem, come inside, I'll walk you through triage.

[ Always a guest star, never a main character T_T Ahem. Kairi scoffs at Axel's boast, and would make a comment that his hair would get him stuck in the ceiling, but the doctor was getting the lion's share of her attention now as they followed him to said private room. ]

Thank you. [ It felt better to be off the street. The slave traders might not follow them but the darkness monsters still left her uneasy. She'd never felt particularly uncomfortable in a hospital, but the knowledge of who they were there for (her) and why... she still couldn't help but wish it were otherwise. And if wishes were fishes she'd have a damn aquarium. ]

[It's a good thing that there aren't too many people around. Axel would rather not have to think about who saw him and Kairi come into Skye Medical smelling like smoke the night of the fire at Afterglow. It's a risk to come here at all, in his opinion, but a risk that has to be taken; it'd be far more dangerous to leave Kairi chipped. But for now he's taking in their surroundings and the people nearby, and he has nothing to say until they're behind closed doors.]

You're welcome. [Erik's tone is clipped, professional until they are inside a private room. He's jammed the radio waves from the chip before beginning them inside, but he hadn't disabled it yet. As soon as they are in a room, he flips on a vent fan to clear the smoke smell - he doesn't care for it and turns to the two of them.]

What can I do for you tonight?

[ No point in beating around the bush, right? She plucked at her clothes, grateful that the smoke smell was being vented out. She didn't care for it either. ]

We -- I -- I need something removed. [ She needs a SPUNKECTOMY. Well no, but she does pull her hair back to show the mark where they had implanted the chip behind her shoulder. ]

[Standing, he leans against the door, arms crossed over his chest. It looks casual, but no one's getting inside.]

I hear this place takes care of problems like this every now and again. If that's the case, I'm sure you docs don't talk about it where the wrong people might hear.

[Erik simply nodded.] Simple enough. I'll deactivate it now, and then set up to remove it. Any allergies to medications?

Hm? I do not discuss it at all. Something like this...I treat it on the paperwork as removing a small foreign body, such as a splinter.
