He took her down to Chinatown--

Jan 12, 2011 14:54

Who: So some sort of atrumcanis and some sort of bittennotbeaten walk into a Chinese restaurant...
When: slightly backdated to 7 pm, Tuesday 11 January
Where: a Chinese restaurant! Sector 4!
Summary: Dinner and a show, by which I mean a mind-reading. Oh, wait, Sirius can't read minds...! I guess it's just dinner.

Sirius was, for once, slightly early, but only just. But to someone who consistently operated ten minutes behind all appointed schedules--well, even these two minutes early was quite good! And no one was ever really on time for things. He could certainly take a few minutes to have a smoke.

Leaning up against the wall, he glanced into the restaurant, trying to pick out this Susan bird from the patrons inside. It wasn't overcrowded by any means--that was one of the nice features of this place, he thought with a grin, taking a drag of his cigarette. Not that this was some intimate date, or anything--in fact, they might not even make it past the initial stages of dinner, once she'd learned that he couldn't actually read her mind. She didn't seem stupid--she'd questioned him enough to indicate that she was more than suspicious--and yet she'd still agreed to dinner.

Sirius sighed, the smoke curling in the cold air. For a second, there was a flash of misgiving--but it was just dinner, it was just eating out, and he ate out with Jack all the time. And this was just some bird that he was stringing along and teasing and playing a bit of a trick on, he told himself firmly, flicking the ash off the end of the cigarette with a decisive movement.

And if she never showed up, he'd have Chinese food and go off to wait for Jack to come home, and the second meal that would follow. Though she likely would show up, he thought with a grin. He wasn't the type to be stood up.
