Warnings: Sarcasm! Late Christmas gifts! More sarcasm!
Really, it was stupid. Sasuke was Jack's friend--and he really wasn't even his friend; who the hell knew what he was. Some arse who came around and ate their food. A sarcastic little snot, jumped up and tense and--unlike Jack--completely unable to take a joke. Any joke. And for some reason, Jack tolerated him. Liked him. Something, Sirius thought vaguely, waving a hand at nothing, at Sasuke, at the situation in general.
And yet, here he was, waiting for Sasuke to come around. Sirius was sitting on his mattress, making little drawings on an essay from last term. Only they kept coming out wonky, possibly because he'd had a bit more whiskey than he ought to have. That was half because Sasuke seemed to disdain alcohol, and what better way to show him up than to have drunk a load of alcohol before he arrived.
Anyway. It was stupid. Sirius rolled his eyes at the present shoved in the corner. It was wrapped in his usual haphazard style, and it wasn't overlarge or anything, but it was a Christmas present. It wasn't as if he owed it to Sasuke--it wasn't as if he particularly even liked the bastard. But he was Jack's friend--acquaintance--whatever, he thought again, impatient with himself. He took another sip of whiskey, setting aside his glass with a snort.
It would be a surprise if Sasuke even showed. And if he didn't--well, then, Sirius would merely keep his present, as he'd been considering doing for last few weeks. He flopped back onto the mattress, smirking at the ceiling.
