Vincent had wanted to discreetly retrieve a bit of food for Lucrecia so that she could recover with something decent to eat. Of course, foreign food wouldn't provide her with all the comforts of home, but it was better than a few sandwiches and crackers paired with bottled water. But no, somehow he ended up here with her on his arm, sighing to himself under his breath at the absurd thought that he was attempting to play the part of an average person.

Lucrecia inwardly sighed at Vincent's rigidity as he helped her to a table. Despite his apparent stoicism, he had never been skilled with hiding how he really felt about something, and his discomfort with this situation was obvious.

"You know," she murmured, "if you're only enduring this for me, we don't have to be here."

"I'm not, Lucrecia. I'm just...concerned." he responded, keeping her on his arm as he pulled a chair out for her. "You're still recovering."

She slipped into the seat gracefully, folding her legs in a much more natural way than she had recently been able to accomplish. The Jenova cells had done their work.

"I'll be fine," she said, looking around for a menu. "You know I'll be fine."

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, slouching till finally he was able to relax against the back of his chair. It had been a while since he'd been in any establishment that required a menu, but he knew well enough that they'd need to wait for the staff before they'd have one in hand.

In the meantime, he prodded one of the little wine glasses already set up on the table with his claw. "You do seem better."

The pair needn't wait long before someone came swooping by - in this case, it was Ella. Having just retrieved a fresh pitcher of water, she padded up to the table to fill the two glasses in front of Vincent and Lucrecia with fresh, sparkling, ice cold water.

"Hi, Welcome to the Capri," she smiled. Briefly she set her tray down, if only to untuck the menu's from under her arm, in order to set one down in front of Vincent, and the other in front of Lucrecia.

"Thank you, Ella."

His claw turned on the menu instead of the glass, lifting it from the top so that he could scan it curiously. After all, Italian food certainly sounded interesting.

Though Lucrecia wasn't familiar with the language used to print the names of the dishes, she felt enticed by the descriptions and by the way the Italian words rolled around pleasantly in her mind. She read the entire menu with interest, turning it over and back several times.

"Yes, thank you so much, miss," she said. "Just looking at this is making me hungry!"

"You're very welcome, Vincent." ... Claw. She didn't comment - she'd seen strange enough things back home. Who was she to judge people's ... gauntlets. Why he was eating with one, she had no idea but she could theorize. Hideous burns were the first thing that came to mind.

"I'm not surprised - many of our customers have raved about the food too, so it's well worth the wait. Would you like to hear about tonight's special?"

"Along with your recommendations, yes."

He laid the menu flat on the edge of the table after thoroughly absorbing each dish and wine with all the speed of a student preparing for an exam. Vincent's eyes and attention settled respectfully on Ella while waiting.

It was odd actually seeing her in person compared to the small broadcast on the NV, but in a way it was nice as well. After all, she-- like Lucrecia-- had an unusually kind heart even in the worst circumstances.

Or so it seemed to him, at least.

Lucrecia leaned towards Ella, glancing between her and Vincent. Coyly, she said, "Do you two already know each other?"

Ella nodded once at the request - though she wasn't sure she really had a recommendation per se. She'd not really eaten here yet cough. Except for samples that the cook let her try when they made a little too much. "Tonight's special is the Rollatini di Melazane," she said in perfect Italian, "Which is three different cheeses with tomato and basil wrapped in eggplant, served with capellini, a very thin pasta, like spaghetti." A pause, "The Vitello Saltimbocca with roasted potatoes is particularly good tonight too."

At Lucrecia's question, Ella grinned in amusement, "We met over the network the other day, actually, but this is the first time we've seen each other in person."

[ooc And because I failed at referencing it before I think, - menu is here :D;; ]

Vincent glanced at Lucrecia as if waiting to know whether or not she was prepared to order; a question that was all too apparent by the slight cant of his head.

"Indeed. I wouldn't have thought to brought you here if not for her mention of it."

"You speak so beautifully," Lucrecia said to Ella. "I've never heard of this language before, but its pronunciation is lovely. I think the eggplant dish sounds good; let's try that." To Vincent, she added, "Well, I'm glad you two met, then!"

Ella's grin widened at Lucrecia's compliment. No need to mention she'd never heard of the language before either - she was just very good at pronouncing foreign words once she'd heard them. "Thank you very much." The woman was so sweet, such a lovely dinner companion.

"So, two orders of the Rollatini di Melazane?" She slid her pad out of her pocket, glancing to Vincent to confirm that he wanted the same. "Anything to drink?"

He considered refusing as usual, thinking it would be an unnecessary waste of food-- but remembering Lucrecia's reaction last time he at least figured making her happy was not a waste, and nodded once towards Ella.

"Yes. The water is fine for me."
