When: NEBULOUS. Anytime within the last week... ish. Dec 29th - Jan 4th.
Where: Anywhere. Running into him when he's out on patrol, being on patrol with him, catching him on his break at the precinct, when he's walking around half-human-- anything else you can think of.

[ He's on his break from one of the interrogations, staring down at the coffee maker with... some degree of confusion. He's seen people work these with little effort (seems to him that working a coffee maker was one of those essential, 2010 skill), though he couldn't quite say the same for himself. Oh, he knew the steps, but he never knew how much coffee to add. His drinks either came out too bitter or too watery, both of which did disgusting things on his tongue.

... Maybe he should settle for some tea instead. ]

[ Actually, Fratley is probably the last person Jomy should run into, if coffee is what he's looking to make: Fratley treats the machine like a live bomb, and the results tend to taste accordingly (disastrous).

That doesn't quite stop him from trying, sometimes. He shuffles into the break room, blinking when he sees who's standing by the coffee maker. ]

Sir Jomy? Did you nee something?

[ He remembers that face from the NV, and he's occasionally seen him in passing at the precinct, but it's an acquaintance that really hasn't extended much beyond that. One ear pins back, mildly perplexed; he's surprised, though not unpleasantly so. ]

[ Glances up at the voice, not at all startled (it was kind of hard to be, really), though he can't help the slight staring. He's seen Fratley before, of course, but... it was another thing entirely to see the other in person. Offers a small, sheepish smile when he snaps out of it, then gestures a little at the coffee maker. ]

I was going to make a drink. I'm. . . er. [ Slight pause, and a vague roll of the shoulders (an aborted shrug). ] Trying to decide between coffee or tea.

I see. [ Turns to look at the coffee maker as well, and-- well, it looks as baffling as it always does, a formidable appliance of metal and plastic that Fratley can never quite grasp how to operate. ]

... Do you have a preference?

[ Formidable indeed. Eyes back on the coffee maker. ]

Coffee, at the moment. [ But then they're back to the... beginning dilemma. ]

[ Fratley also eyes the coffee-maker warily. ]

Do you require... assistance?

[ No is on his lips, but he pauses. It really can't hurt to get help, now can it? ]

If you're not busy, that'd be. . . I'd appreciate it.

[ Perhaps Jomy wouldn't be quite so thankful when he realized Fratley was as clueless about the coffee maker as he was. ]

Then I shall get the water.

[ With a soft tink of claws on glass, he unhooks the coffee pot from the machine and trots off-- returning with enough water for three or so cups.]

Where do I, ah-- pour this? [ Coffee makers are such fiddly things. ]

[ While he's gone on a search for the filter paper. Looks up from his search when Fratley returns.

Gestures a little at the machine. ]

Thank you. Er, at the back, I believe.

[ Shuffling over, he pops open the back of the coffeemaker with a gentle snick of a claw, pouring the water in before replacing the pot with a dull thunk.

Thunk? Maybe that's not the sound it's supposed to make, but...

Now he stares at Jomy expectantly. The coffee is for him, after all; he should decide how much actual coffee goes into it! ]
