[They'd thought he couldn't do it. Oh, they hadn't said so, but Roxas had caught some of the glances. Baked Alaska was beyond him, they thought. Ice cream? In an oven? Sure, it was just to make the meringue firm, but they thought he might end up melting it all over. Roxas was glad they'd made special Christmas ice cream, not as a backup but just because it was good, too, but he was sure he could pull off this dessert if he just believed in himself. What was Cohen's word again? Doubters, all of them.

He grinned as he pulled the dish out of the oven, the meringue browned just like in the cookbook. Well, close enough. This was perfect enough for him.]

Strawberry cream. That part's easy. We make ice cream all the time.

Yeah, it is. I used a simpler recipe, though, so it should be okay. It looks okay.
