Rich cloth included, this time, a borrowed pair of shorts from Ciel. Modest, Ciel had scolded. At least let them reach your knees, will you? Besides, it's too cold to be flashing like that.

Alois had been indignant - he wasn't flashing (not that much, at least) - but borrowing Ciel's clothing was a compromise he was willing to take. It helped that Ciel's knee-length shorts were a few inches above that, for Alois, too. And, of course, although they reached the length of his thigh, they were plenty longer than his own typical style. Fortunately enough, their waists were similar, both slender enough for a person to frown at, and Alois had chosen an outfit of dark green, though the buttons were done in a silver color, rather than the gold he often selected for himself. And, around his collar- a ribbon, from Ciel ( ... )

"It's a pity we can't order wine." Ciel began, echoing the thoughts Alois had kept unspoken. "But I suppose it's not necessary. We'll live without it." Just as they had countless other nights.

Flipping open the menu he had before him, Ciel began skimming through all the various options they had - soups, salads, main entrees and the like. Before he settled on what to eat though, perhaps a drink would be wise to choose first.

"A glass of water to start with please, and an iced tea with a lemon slice."

"And for you, sir?"

"Oh," Alois said, playing at being mildly distracted, and then he turned first his face toward the waiter, and then his eyes. After a look of almost-surprise, he gave the sort of smile that generally impressed people. "Oh," he said again, and then he nodded; "Cranberry juice, I think that's all, thank you."

See there, his manners weren't too nonexistent, not all the time.

"I'll be back in just a moment, then," the waiter said, and Alois stuck his tongue out at the man's retreating back, seconds later. Then, to Ciel-

"Iced tea is good, huh?" He hadn't had it before Claude.

With the waiter turning off to fetch their drinks, Ciel turned back to Alois, giving him a nod. "It is. It's sweet and refreshing. I enjoy it a lot."

Letting his gaze fall back to the menu he looked at the entrees with a quiet hum, flipping the pages over neatly, and politely. Perhaps he'd have fish...or maybe a soup.

"Have you decided what you'd like?"
