When: November 20th, from 6pm to 6am.
Where: The Lux, Sector Five
Summary: It's the grand opening and Lucifer has invited all of Siren's Port to join.
Warnings: None.
The Lux is the place to be tonight. The music nearly reverberates off the walls, swinging back and forth at a raucous, excited pace, the rhythm quickly picking up as easily as it falls, crashing forth and pulling back, goading the crowd into movement and dance. Here and there, groups of swingers put themselves on display, crowding the dance floor with their wild gyrations, their kicks and twirls torn straight out of some roaring twenties album of pictures.
Even if you aren't making a spectacle of yourself, it's still a hell of a good time -- around the dance floor, groups of people mingle and chat, taking drinks or smokes off waiters constantly flittering through the crowd to serve. Lucifer is at the door, at the bar, in the crowd; he moves from person to person, from conversation to conversation like a silverfish through water, greeting here, politicking there, always amicably transient to prove himself the perfect host.
When the music dies down -- and it does, because Lucifer knows that humans are easily desensitized -- he takes his rightful place at the baby grand piano placed center stage, his fingers working its keys masterfully; perfectly, some might say, as if the thing were made for him and only him. His repertoire is as extensive as it is esoteric; he plays just long enough to take a break from the crowd, then finds himself inexorably drawn back into the morass once he feels its time for the band to take over again.
Will you perhaps find yourself amongst those he speaks to tonight?
