So he had to give Jinx her due for sheer gumption, though unfortunately it didn't change some basic...anatomical problems with the situation. He swallowed hard, well aware that he was very, very red. "Jinx?" he managed very tentatively at last. "The thing is? Me and Teddy? We're kinda..." He was faltering for an explanation, which he usually didn't--they were gay and they were together, that was that--and really kind of hoping that Teddy would somehow manage to save the day and the dignity of everyone involved.
((ooc: reeeally sorry for my slow, you guys. ;; I had to deal with some IRL stuff but I should be much more active now))

"Gay." Okay, make not as gentle as he'd planned. "We're gay. And together." He moved a between the two of them, hoping it explained what he was trying to say. He mumbled a quick, "Sorry." under his breath. Despite how embarrassed he felt he knew Jinx would probably have it a lot worse.

"Waitwhat."
Looking off to the side, she blinked a few times, as though trying to process this information. That look on her face was rather clear that it was not computing. After a moment, she started snickering, then it turned into a laugh, which sounded more like a cackle. "You're joking! Oh, wow. That's pretty good, boys. I mean, you almost had me there for a..."
She looks at their faces. "...uh..." Her laugh begins to die down until it's just an awkward chuckle. "Snap." Well, it didn't look like they were trying to kid her, did it? Because usually when people made jokes like that, they would start laughing along with her. Then they would be making with the touching by now. All this was hypothetical, yes. However, usually her hypotheticals worked, so why the hell wasn't this one working? Oh. Right. Bad luck.
"You're...not kidding..."
((ooc: It's okay, Otter. &hearts You feeling better is more important. T^T))

"Um, yeah. I mean, no. We're not kidding. Sorry." Sooo so red. He had to stifle the urge to start yanking anxiously at his hair. "It's just. We're flattered? But. It wouldn't really. Work." Why couldn't he form sentences properly? Why?

He gave Billy a grateful glance for continuing. If he had had to keep going there's no telling what would have come out of his mouth. So he just stayed silent and nodded along with what Billy was saying.

There, she opened the curtains, flooding the room with natural light. After a moment of thought, she pulled the window open and looked down over the fire escape. "Before you leave, I have two questions," she said rather calmly. "Do you think eight stories would kill me and should I put pants on before I go? I really don't want them to think I'm a prostitute when they're trying to identify my corpse."

"'Yeah, what he said'?" she repeats with a quirk of her brow. "I think Billy won this round of the suicide hotline game." But Teddy said something that made her laugh a little bitterly. There was no good reason to do this, huh? Jinx was amazed she lasted this long without a legitimate suicide attempt. She should have an award by now. "Though I have to admit, I'm really enjoying this whole group hug thing."

"That's good," he managed, faintly sardonic himself. "'Cause it's not gonna stop unless you promise you won't be throwing yourself out of any high windows. Or doing anything else that could hurt yourself." Behind Jinx's back, he silently reached over and gripped one of Teddy's arms, as if in apology for getting them into this mess. He pretty much regarded it as All His Fault.

He caught Billy's gaze over Jinx's shoulder and shook his head. He didn't blame him-or anyone-for this. It's just another strange thing that seemed to always happen to them. When it seemed that Jinx wasn't in any immediate rush to jump out the window he cleared his throat. "Okay, so how about we move this to the living room and, uh, talk or something."
