Billy glanced sideways at Teddy, completely at a loss for words, before looking back at Jinx. Because really? He was a little...maybe awed was the right word, that she'd actually try to pull off something like this. The mere thought of trying to seduce someone he'd known only for a few weeks--no, not someone, someones--was terrifying to him, but maybe that was because his experiences in these ventures were very, very limited outside his thing with Teddy.

So he had to give Jinx her due for sheer gumption, though unfortunately it didn't change some basic...anatomical problems with the situation. He swallowed hard, well aware that he was very, very red. "Jinx?" he managed very tentatively at last. "The thing is? Me and Teddy? We're kinda..." He was faltering for an explanation, which he usually didn't--they were gay and they were together, that was that--and really kind of hoping that Teddy would somehow manage to save the day and the dignity of everyone involved.

((ooc: reeeally sorry for my slow, you guys. ;; I had to deal with some IRL stuff but I should be much more active now))

Teddy stood openly gaping at Jinx and her response-he really wasn't expecting that. He barely even knew the girl and though he supposed he should be flattered or something, that didn't make the situation any less crazy. He finally picked his jaw up off the ground when Billy spoke but knew once he started trailing off that he'd have to come to the rescue. He just hoped the truth came out gentle.

"Gay." Okay, make not as gentle as he'd planned. "We're gay. And together." He moved a between the two of them, hoping it explained what he was trying to say. He mumbled a quick, "Sorry." under his breath. Despite how embarrassed he felt he knew Jinx would probably have it a lot worse.

This was usually the part where she either got jumped, or had two very awkward, nervous boys needing to be led into things. It looked like it was going to be the latter. So she stood there, hands on her hips, looking between both young men. Billy was trying to say something. My, was he cute when he blushed like that. Her eyes flicked over to Teddy as he seemed to take over with words. And--

"Waitwhat."

Looking off to the side, she blinked a few times, as though trying to process this information. That look on her face was rather clear that it was not computing. After a moment, she started snickering, then it turned into a laugh, which sounded more like a cackle. "You're joking! Oh, wow. That's pretty good, boys. I mean, you almost had me there for a..."

She looks at their faces. "...uh..." Her laugh begins to die down until it's just an awkward chuckle. "Snap." Well, it didn't look like they were trying to kid her, did it? Because usually when people made jokes like that, they would start laughing along with her. Then they would be making with the touching by now. All this was hypothetical, yes. However, usually her hypotheticals worked, so why the hell wasn't this one working? Oh. Right. Bad luck.

"You're...not kidding..."

((ooc: It's okay, Otter. &hearts You feeling better is more important. T^T))

Oh God, he seriously just wanted to disappear right about now. Which--he could, he had the power, but he wasn't selfish enough to leave Teddy and Jinx to deal with this while he went and hid in a dark hole somewhere, maybe forever. (Maybe he should just vanish all three of them. They wouldn't mind, right?)

"Um, yeah. I mean, no. We're not kidding. Sorry." Sooo so red. He had to stifle the urge to start yanking anxiously at his hair. "It's just. We're flattered? But. It wouldn't really. Work." Why couldn't he form sentences properly? Why?

He shuffled his feet a bit and stared at the ground while Jinx processed. He winced a bit when she started laughing, but that was only natural right? She really wanted them to be kidding. He felt so bad for her he almost wished he could tell her it was a joke. Almost.

He gave Billy a grateful glance for continuing. If he had had to keep going there's no telling what would have come out of his mouth. So he just stayed silent and nodded along with what Billy was saying.

Okay. Well. This was probably the most mortifying experience of her life. And seeing that Sander Cohen made her prance around in a pink tutu on stage once, that was really saying something. But Jinx managed to stay calm enough. She snapped her fingers, and all the candles in the room instantaneously flickered out, leaving the whole place rather dark. "Glad that you're flattered, boys." She pat Teddy twice on the chest before she crossed the room to the window.

There, she opened the curtains, flooding the room with natural light. After a moment of thought, she pulled the window open and looked down over the fire escape. "Before you leave, I have two questions," she said rather calmly. "Do you think eight stories would kill me and should I put pants on before I go? I really don't want them to think I'm a prostitute when they're trying to identify my corpse."

Billy made a high-pitched noise and teleported across the room in a flash of blue light, grabbing hold of Jinx before she could go throwing herself out of anything. "Okay! This? Not a good idea! Really, really not a good idea at all!" She couldn't be serious, right? Except maybe she was. He thought he could probably catch her if she did go out the window, but he'd rather not have her go out at all.

While not as quick as Billy, Teddy shot across the room to grab her on the other side and wedge his body between her and the window. He hadn't expected her to reaction so badly. "Yeah, what he said! Come on, Jinx, there's no good reason to do this."

That was... unexpected, to say the least. Well, it was her intention for the day to get sandwiched between the two boys. She would take what she could get. Blinking, she looked between Billy and Teddy, trying to access the situation and why the hell they just freaked out. It took her a moment. Then she, well, started laughing a little. Her sense of humor is so damn morbid she often had a hard time determining what was too far.

"'Yeah, what he said'?" she repeats with a quirk of her brow. "I think Billy won this round of the suicide hotline game." But Teddy said something that made her laugh a little bitterly. There was no good reason to do this, huh? Jinx was amazed she lasted this long without a legitimate suicide attempt. She should have an award by now. "Though I have to admit, I'm really enjoying this whole group hug thing."

Man, why did things like this have to happen? It seemed somehow like his destiny to meet with the most awkward, impossible situations available. Always. Though at least Jinx seemed like she wasn't going to try to fight her way out of their arms so she could jump. She was still being sarcastic, which he took as a good sign.

"That's good," he managed, faintly sardonic himself. "'Cause it's not gonna stop unless you promise you won't be throwing yourself out of any high windows. Or doing anything else that could hurt yourself." Behind Jinx's back, he silently reached over and gripped one of Teddy's arms, as if in apology for getting them into this mess. He pretty much regarded it as All His Fault.

"Sorry, I'm a little new to this. I've never actually tried to talk someone out of suicide before." And now, he thought, would be a good time to shut his mouth before he said something even more stupid or possibly offensive that could set her off again. He really didn't know how these things work so he just remained where he was, blocking the window.

He caught Billy's gaze over Jinx's shoulder and shook his head. He didn't blame him-or anyone-for this. It's just another strange thing that seemed to always happen to them. When it seemed that Jinx wasn't in any immediate rush to jump out the window he cleared his throat. "Okay, so how about we move this to the living room and, uh, talk or something."
