[After the earthquake - they're headed to check on Edgeworth. Maya's already talked to Phoenix on the phone and he's going to meet them there]

[The library was a dangerous place in an eathquake and the light bruise coming up on Phoenix's forehead was testament to the fact that it was. Books had fallen from the top shelves, raining down on him, but at least it had been books and not rocks.

Edgeworth was his first priority, of course. After checking in on Maya and the office, Phoenix had set off to find Edgeworth, trying not to be delayed too much but having to double back and take another route when he'd come up against a fallen cabinet blocking the corridor he'd chosen.

He wasn't planning to wait for Maya once he got there. It didn't matter what was in his way, doors, people, walls and floods, fire--he'd get there.

Within a few minutes he was climbing the last flight of stairs and rushing to Edgeworth's door, testing the door handle frantically.]

[The door, unfortunately, is locked. He'd gotten tired of interruptions earlier in the day and had wanted some quiet; as such, he'd locked the door. And, unfortunately, he's now too distracted to hear the jiggling at the handle.]

[And it hasn't really occured to Phoenix to knock. Edgeworth might be injured. He looks up and down the corridor, checking for Maya, but quickly turns back to face the door. There's nothing for it.

Come on, Maya.

Phoenix takes several steps back, eyeing the door. It was important to throw all his weight into the door just where the lock was. Right. And now just a warning. He shouts out loud:]

Stand back, I'm coming through!

[Edgeworth, inside, looks up. He heard that, but he didn't quite make out the words.]

[She'd been filing papers away when she'd felt the tremor, and soon enough had found herself on the floor, papers abound as they fluttered downward. This was the second time an earthquake had struck and if the last time had forced Mr. Edgeworth to cower under his desk, this time probably wouldn't be much different. With that thought Haruhi had pulled herself to her feet and made a dash to the door to Edgeworth's office, only to happen upon Mr. Wright bracing himself to slam into the door.]

Ah- [And without another sound she stood back, eyes wide.]

[Maya arrives around then, leading Shinjiro. She catches a glimpse of blue (is that Phoenix? He's here already) and someone else, totally unfamiliar]

[He had never visited where Mitsuru worked-- and sicne this was where Edgeworth was, he assumed it was the same place. Still, this wa sno time for sight-seeing, as he was simply focusing on keeping up with Maya to check on the guy. He paused, though, reaching out to put a hand on her shoulder and keep her from rushing forward as the sight of... some dude about to break in the door. Running into that would hardly be good.]

[Oh well, Phoenix was already moving for the door, but the call of 'Nick' startles him and he changes his angle slightly and catches his arm painfully as he drives his shoulder into the door. The lock splinters and breaks, with Phoenix stumbling through it as it gives way, looking back started toward the open doorway from inside.]

Is that you, Maya? Who's there with you?

[Oh wait, Edgeworth. That was why he was here, wasn't it?]

[Normally, of course, Edgeworth would be on his feet, eyes blazing furiously at this absurdity. He'd have harsh words for every last one of them, that they would resort to destruction of property over their worry; he'd chastise them for acting so recklessly.

But in the state he's in, still panicking from the earthquake, the gunshot-loud crack of the lock breaking overwhelms him, and he crouches back down behind his desk, his eyes gone wide in panic, every muscle tense. Distantly, it penetrates his fog of terror that it's Wright who's here, that things are safe. Nevertheless he remains huddled on the ground, unable to act on that realization.]

[Haruhi finds herself wincing as she watches Mr. Wright tumble through the doorway - half of the reaction at the fact it looks painful and half due to the fact that Mr. Edgeworth is going to be rather cross about his door once he gets a hold of himself.

Casting a glance toward the two new arrivals, Haruhi takes a few steps toward the doorway, peeking in, lips pursed.]

...Mr. Wright, are you all right? [A pause. Mr. Edgeworth really was going to lecture after all of this.] There's a girl and a boy here as well.

Nngh, I'm fine. Just bruised my shoulder, I think.

[Nothing broken by some small miracle, at least.]

[Brushing himself off, Phoenix turns back into the room, looking over the office for Edgeworth and frowning as he couldn't find him, unable to see from this angle.]

Edgeworth, are you in here?

[Oh, God. Edgeworth, still panicked, presses his eyes shut as he realizes that not only is Wright here, so too is Ms. Fujioka and two others. For a moment, humiliation outweighs fear - but only for a moment. It doesn't last long enough for him to stand up proudly and reclaim his dignity.

Instead, he just remains where he was, remaining silent, hoping now that they don't find him.]

Okay new posting order Maya -> Shinjiro -> Haruhi -> Phoenix -> Edgeworth

[Maya glances up at Shinjiro questioningly when he puts his on her shoulder, but stopped anyway]

That's Mr. Shinjiro! He's my friend, and I think he's Mr. Edgeworth's friend too. [Well, he was now. And having that said, now that the coast was clear, Maya headed inside to look for Mr. Edgeworth]

[Shinjiro gave a small wince as Phoenix crashed through the door, shaking his head. This was... some kind of clusterfuck. But Maya seemed to know these people, which was good. It meant he could check in, and then get out and make sure the rest of SEES was alright, without worrying about Maya getting lost or hurt in the aftermath.

His brows creased as Maya introduced him as 'Mr.', but that didn't matter so much right now.] ...You sure you ain't bustin' into an empty office? Mighta been locked for a damn reason.

[He glanced over Maya and Haruhi's heads into the office and at the lack of Edgeworth-- pausing for a moment at the desk, as though he had seen something. But that was stupid and he wrote it off, instead staying back. These people seemed to actually know the guy, he'd let them do the initial tresspassing.]

[Unlike the others, Haruhi knew just exactly where Edgeworth was hiding. After all, she'd been there the first time the Earthquake had hit. It wouldn't be surprising if he'd be hiding in the same place.

Without a word, quietly and calmly, Haruhi stepped into the office, frowning a little at the mess the tremor had caused. A few more steps and she was rounding the man's desk, crouching down and low and behold - there was Edgeworth.]

Mr. Edgeworth. [She offered him a small smile, although it was debatable whether or not he was paying attention.] Mr. Wright is here to see you, along with a Mr. Shinjiro and...Maya? [She kept the smile, her voice calm, low and quiet - like it usually was, as if nothing had happened, ignoring the fact Edgeworth was hiding under his desk. There was no point in asking Edgeworth whether he was alright or not. He wasn't, but that was just because of the initial fear, much like her own with thunder. Would he be? Of course. It was better not to point it out, lest the embarrassment of the situation become any
