THE ORCHARD THREAD

Oct 15, 2010 22:07

Who: Poison Ivy and...shit I don't even know who's all still going on this trip xD
When: October 15th, a little before the evening sirens set off.
Where: Outside of the Grayson Apple Orchard
Summary:
At last the long mentioned Orchard trip log is put up. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS IS GOING TO FUNCTION. Single thread? Multiple threads (although I'd think it'd be confusing that way?). Both? I'm an adaptable person, I'll roll with whatever. :3
Warnings: KICKING DARKNESS ASS? Otherwise I'm unsure at the moment. I'll add if I see anything. Since there's potentially a lot of people involved in this, it could take a while to finish.

Ivy had arrived at the orchard an hour before - she wanted the chance to communicate with the plants outside without the threat of the Darkness making things difficult. She had contacted everyone, via NV, telling them to meet her within the hour - preferably before the sirens went off. As she awaited the arrival of the others, she went from tree to tree, silently listening to their tales of the monsters that lurked around the area. Of course there was no way the plants would know how to defeat them, but it was at least nice to know a general number to expect.

Noticing that the sun was almost completely dimmed and that the Darkness was soon to follow, she sauntered over to the tree closest to the entrance. Smoothing her hand over the bark, she rested her head against it, as she waited to hear if it could see anything - or anyone approaching. She knew that she had put off this trip for a very long time, so she wasn't even sure if anyone was still planning to go, even if everyone had said otherwise. In the life she had experienced, however, she had learned not to take much faith in what people said. As she herself believed, if you gave people half a chance, they'll just leave you high and dry.

Of course, she hoped she wouldn't be left alone in this. She truly wanted the chance to communicate with the special tree within the orchard to understand it - to hopefully find a way she might perhaps guard the plants from the plague of the Darkness. If that was impossible, she wanted to at least add another plant to her expansive knowledge about botany. If she had to, she'd go in the place alone - the winter was soon approaching, and she wanted to get this trip of knowledge done before she found herself at a disadvantage in the cold.

If it came down to it, she did not fear death - she had experienced it once before in Gotham and had triumphed over it. She had confidence that she'd only return again if she should experience death again - it was her destiny to protect the green because no one else was capable of doing so. If she was stuck here, the least she could do was to do everything in her power to help the plants.

Regardless, there was still time before the sirens went off, so Ivy patiently awaited. She had the skills to stave off the monsters on her own if she needed to, but she was likely going to be outnumbered. She likely wouldn't mention to anyone, but she was secretly hoping another would arrive soon.
