Monsters schmonsters, she said. She'd say it again, even after that little adventure with Naruto over the weekend. It wasn't anything she couldn't handle (well, with good company), and it certainly wasn't going to scare her away from an opportunity like this. No airplanes, no hovercraft, and obviously no spacecraft...the notion that someone around town could fly was almost unbelievable. But Kei didn't doubt the footage she'd been shown by the mysterious Broadway, so far the resident flyer around town.
But why at night? There were just as many bad flying things as there were crawling and creeping around the alleys and dark places. Perhaps just because...well, nobody else flew. It'd be a bit of a shocking sight to some. Nobody deserved that kind of hassle, after all. The more she thought about it, the more it seemed to make sense. The night was better, ominous howls and screeches aside.
She'd managed to get a jacket--the first piece of 'contemporary' clothing she'd purchased. It didn't do much against a biting wind, but the evening was slightly milder than usual. It wasn't going to be a problem.
It was still chilly, and Kei couldn't help but fold her arms around herself to keep in the little warmth that coat brought. She carefully stepped away from the apartment's roof-access door and towards the railed edge, peering down and seeing...well, very little. The Darkness was unnaturally deep. How anyone managed to live her for such a long time without anxiety seemed outright impossible. Even she'd succumb eventually, perhaps. Being crazy enough to stand out and wait for a mysterious flying man might've been a warning sign. Oh, well.
