Summary: Lady and Adachi decide to go on a date…to hunt monsters. This will not end well.

As it usually was after sirens, Siren's Port took a few hours before the monsters filtered through the city, filling every crook and nanny like sand.He had chosen the parking lot in the north end of Section 5 to avoid being ambushed on his way there. The maze of buildings and streets surrounding the area meant that it always took the creatures a little bit longer to seep into the lot, and though by NV transmission, the decision might have sounded spontaneous and on-the-spot, it wasn't exactly so (characteristic of many things Adachi did, to be honest).

He had the audacity to whistle, and judging from the echo of the sound coming from the right, he was somewhere near the east end of the labyrinth-like space, and surprisingly at ease for someone who hadn't wandered out late before, or so he claimed. That might have had something to do with the slight surprise that registered in his face as he caught sight of Lady. Usually, weren't the women always late, tending to their makeup or their hair or one of the thousand other vanities

Lady looked over at said missile launcher and shrugged before looking back at Adachi.

“Insurance.”

She crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head slightly as her eyed the cop briefly. “Doesn’t hurt to be prepared if things get out of hand, I trust you came prepared?”

[Adachi nods mutely, patting his jacket, or rather, the bump of the holster under it. He's definitely outmatched in firepower, because, well, he's honestly got no fear of these monsters - the obvious ones, that only come out in the dark, the ones that don't hide under people's faces.]

Yeah, I've got mine right...here.

[He makes a face, still obviously skeptical, and points to the missile launcher.]

You really think you're gonna need that thing?

[She rolls her eyes. Really, was this guy even taking this seriously? Lady didn’t skimp on fire arms even on the easiest of hunting jobs. Monsters, despite some being weak enough to kill with one shot, were still monsters that could rip you to shreds if you were careless enough.]

Well, I haven’t really fought any of the monsters since coming here. I’ve only read up on what they can do. [She uncrosses her arms and places a hand on her hip.] And it’s not like I’m going to use it anyway. I’ll only use it if the situation gets out of hand. For now, I just have these babies. [And she shows him the Beretta and another gun.]

Do you know what we’re going up against? Have you taken any of these monsters out?

[An eyebrow is raised.]

[His automatic nod probably is the most reassuring of things, but.]

Yeah, I-

[He sees the gun, and like a child at the candy store, just lights right up.]

Whoa! Can I see that? They never let us have any import models back home, and I couldn't afford any - only saw a glimpse of these in the magazines!

[Her eyebrow just twitches a bit because honestly, this wasn’t the time nor the place to fangirl over a damn gun.]

Look, as happy as you are, don’t we-

[The sound of something dragging itself on the ground, followed by a sharp hiss.]
