Who: Yagami Light killswithapen  Near neargenius  and probably Mello xantheose
When: Friday 24th 3.45pm
Where: A warehouse in the 10th, where they met once before
Summary: Near and Mello
Warnings: Possible violence and swearing, depends if they believe him. Will warn for more once I know what they're up to.

The order to come to this precise warehouse at this precise time had arrived on his NV a few days ago. 'Come alone' it had said, from the number that Light recognised as being 'L's' from before. It was finally happening, and perhaps at last they'd be able to move past the block that had been built between them thanks to the city's revelations. In the past, after all, L had always held up that he and Light worked well together, whether or not Light was Kira. Should it be any different now, knowing what they knew? Perhaps it was the right caution to have, after all he could be lying.

Yes, he could be lying. He might even be susceptable to turning to evil, if what his thoughts over the last few days suggested was true. No, one couldn't avoid their fate, but Light had already fallen once. Even knowing that, was there or was there not a part of him which had been corrupted? Which even with the best intentions had been turned to doing terrible, self-serving things?

He had killed people, thousands of them; was going to kill tens of thousands more. As much as he told himself that wasn't who he was, the clown and Edgeworth made it clear that a loss of memory didn't mean a loss of cupability. The blood was still on his hands, and that was something he had to face up to. Just who did he want to be?

Not the killer, certainly. But who was Yagami Light? Was he the kind of man who was frightened of his own ability, afraid of what he might become? Was he the kind of man who did his best to make up for what he'd done for the rest of his life, even if nothing he did could ever bring those lives back? Was he afraid of himself even now?

Pushing open the door, Light hesitated on the threshold, peering into the darkness inside, then stepping through. It could be a trap, though it seemed unlikely. Who would want to do that?
