Who: Yuffie Kisaragi, Jack Kelly
When: September 22
Where: Jack's apartment
Summary: A family reunion, of sorts.
It was silly to pace. Yuffie would get here when she did, and she certainly wouldn’t make him wait; point in fact, she was probably down the block right now. And pacing, no matter where she was, wasn’t going to make her magically arrive any sooner. She would get here when she got here, and he would say hello and hug her and they’d talk and it would be fine. He’d be able to tell her more about flying, and she could tell him about her time in Siren’s Port, and they could both look the other over and make sure each was really and truly all right.
Running a hand through his hair, Jack took a deep breath and let it out again, crossing the barrier from the kitchen to the dining room and back again. She would get here soon, yes, but he wanted her here now. He wanted her here yesterday, bright and bubbly and ridiculously energetic, bugging him to eat, smacking him round the head when she thought he needed it, laughing and crying and screaming and being Yuffie. He hadn’t realized how badly he needed her here, right up until he’d heard her voice over the NV again, saw her smiling tiredly at him, just as she always had.
“Come on,” he mumbled, giving the door an agonized sort of glance.
