There hadn't been any point to answering the voicemail, instead he immediately set to work for the various things he'd need to do like get a boat for tonight and call his carnival boss to get the night off. Sora had heard that Brooke was...comatose or playing dead or whatever it was so he was just glad that his friend hadn't disappeared. Now they could go and follow the map to look for some sort of treasure! He had previous experience with pirates before - played it when he was little - met some bad ones who locked him up, several that he trusted....with his life - not his possessions and those who became his friends.

The last two weeks had been busy for Sora, between two jobs, getting Hikaru trained, visiting the children at the hospital, the Night Watch, keeping up his sparring abilities and the secret project he'd been working on. Between it all Sora had jumped at the chance to go do something fun with one of his friends.

So this is what brought him out after darkness had fallen, Keyblade resting easily in his right hand as he avoided and darted around hoards of monsters to make it to the dock faster. Even though he'd gotten himself various clothes this night called for the one outfit specifically made for him by faeries.

Sora waved a hand as he approached Brooke, easily jumping over the pile of dead monsters, not even worried about the ones still alive. "Brooke! Been waiting long?" He asked when he saw the skeleton drinking tea.

Brooke laughed merrily when he caught sight of Sora leaping over one of the piles of monsters. "Fortunately, not too long, but then again, you can likely be the judge of that by the bodies. Yohohoho!" He drank down the rest of his tea in a gulp and put his tea cup back in place in his vest. He then pulled out the map and held it under the street lamp light so they could read it easier. It took a few moments for Brooke to register that Sora was carrying around a giant key.

"Well, well, when you told me that you used a key-blade I must admit I was a tiny bit skeptical, and I thought that maybe it was just a sword that worked like a key, but I must admit, that is one big key. It looks far more like a key and much less like a sword than I would have expected. I'm just glad you know how to use it because I'd certainly be baffled trying to hit things with a giant key. Ah, but I see I am getting distracted, it is good to see you in person my friend. Now where was I?" Brooke taps his chin in thought and then realizes he still has the map in his hands.

"Oh that's right! On to the matter at hand! Literally, since it's in my hand. Yohohoho! We are here at the boat rental dock which is here, and where we need to get to is a small island here. The small little island we are looking for should be right behind the lighthouse over here, so this is the course we should take to get there." Brooke said this while pointing out various points of the map he had and a dotted red line he had made from their starting point to their treasure island. His map looked a little something like this.

"So this trip should most likely take us a couple hours to sail there, and if conditions are good maybe even less. Although it could be quite dangerous since I've read up my lore of this island, and it seems there is a sea monster of some sort that haunts the waters near the lighthouse. We will hopefully be able to avoid him, but if worst comes to worst... From what I remember you telling me you have a bit of experience with sailing, correct? Well if you did not have luck with getting your own ship, I happen to have this fine little vessel right here. I call her, The Rusted Leak!" To accentuate the point of the name, Brooke took the bucket he had with the ship, and bailed another few inches of water out of the little sail boat. A boat that looked like it had sunk only a few hours before.

"Positively lovely isn't she? Yohohoho! Of course she isn't the worst ship I've ever been on, but I have certainly been on better. According to the Diary I read regarding this map, the location of this island was very secretive, but they were even more secretive about this diamond treasure they had. I bet it's probably worth a lot to the city if we can find whatever it is."

Sora shifted his Keyblade to rest against his shoulder as he looked at the map. The island definitely looked way out there, possibly far enough to have the pull take a little effect on them. And of course it was right next to the lighthouse where a giant monster supposedly lurked beneath the surface. He wasn't afraid of the creature though, or fighting one from a ship - he could even fight one in the water if their ship was taken down.

"Been fighting with this for a couple of years now, and it does function as a key too - able to open anything with a keyhole - so locked treasure chests will be no problem. It's good to see you too," Sora accompanied that with a smile.

His eyes flickered over the docks, and he saw the name of the boat he'd managed to get. Sora wandered over to the medium-sized sailing ship - it was pretty old looking but he guessed that for a darkness adventure it wasn't worth one of the good boats. "I made a call and managed to get us this boat - Stargazer. Think we could pull The Rusted Leak behind it just in case something happens?"

He remembered what Brooke said if he was submerged in water, and Sora didn't want to take the chance of - he'd swim all the way back to the mainland if it meant saving his bony friend.

"Diamonds?! We're looking for diamonds?!" The excitement in his voice grows, Sora had seen an entire cave of treasure but it had been cursed and as much as he liked his skeleton friends he did not want to be one.

"That giant key you carry works as a skeleton key? Where have you been most of my piracy career? Yohohoho!" Brooke did recall on several occasions where it could take him a full week to open some of those combination lock, triple security metal chests. He glanced at the rusted leak an sighed.

"I suppose it would likely be a good idea to bring the Rusted Leak with us, just in case, although it will likely slow us down. The stargazer is a much better looking vessel though." Brooke was already loading the Stargazer with his gear and tying the rusted Leak off to the back of it.

"The treasure we are looking for is rather large, so I think it may take us a couple trips, but it definitely is described as a diamond treasure. I think we're almost ready to set sail now. Ready to cast off? Assuming these monsters don't swim after us or try to climb aboard. I don't know if they can."

"Yep, anything with a keyhole can be unlocked," Sora said looking at the Keyblade. It's not like it was a big secret or anything, he'd already talked about. Still... "Try not to spread it around too much, don't wanna get myself on SERO or AGI's radar."

All of Sora's gear was in his pockets so he grabbed some of Brooke's stuff and hauled it into the boat, keeping an eye on those creatures still lurking nearby.

"The amount of stuff I can put into my pockets would surprise you so maybe we can make it in one trip. If not there's always tomorrow night depending on how long the trip takes. I'm ready and if they come after us I'll take care of them." With that he grabbed the line tying the boat to the dock, ready to push off.

"Don't worry Sora, your secret is safe with me. I know all too well how organizations can try to manipulate those with great strengths." Brooke having loaded what little luggage was left with Sora's help took out his cane sword, cut the line that kept the rusted leak attached to the dock, (since Sora had already dealt with the line attaching the stargazer) and kicked off. He unfurled the sail setting them moving and cried out to the shore, "Bon Voyage little darkness monsters! Brooke the bard, and Sora the Keyblade master are now setting sail!"

Several of the monsters seemed to be attracted to Brooke's taunting announcement and growled off on the docks as they sailed away. While this was occurring Brooke had removed his violin and had already begun to play a little pirate tune you might recognize. It went a little like this. "Nothing like waving goodbye to your loved ones after setting sail, aye Sora? Yohohoho!" Brooke felt completely exhilarated playing music while sailing again, even if they couldn't stray too far from the island.

"All things considering, I think we are moving at a rather good speed. Judging by the stars, we simply need to head that way until we reach the lighthouse. The docks district should be somewhere between, so it'll be a good halfway marker." Brooke was mostly leaving the sailing to Sora at present as he played more pirate tunes on his violin, like this.
