Sorry, Ciel. Lily disappoints. When he was looking in the other direction, she went into a flying tackle that literally encompassed a good stretch of the street. That was to say, she was quite the flying cannonball, her squeal of laughter and running steps all too easy for others to detect.

"I'm here! I'm here!"

"Ah-!" And here she was, tackling him in an ever so familiar fashion, although he had to admit when Lizzy did so there was at least the warning of her screaming his name. It was a bit less foreboding than the laughter he'd heard seconds before the strike.

He almost fell down, nearly tripping over his own feet but the little Earl had managed to catch himself before doing so. Lily was here. Oh, she was here alright.

"You found me."

She giggled, clinging on to him the way a little girl would cling to a teddy bear or a stuffed animal. Absolutely elated, she finally let him go after a prolonged moment of fun-filled hug and did a little twirl of her own, unable to stand still because of her excitement.

"Of course, silly! I'm the best at hide-and-catch, so this was easy, easy!" A smile that stretched from one corner of her face to the other.

There were a few reasons as to why Ciel Phantomhive was grateful Lily let go of him. One was that he wasn't used to physical contact, another being that he could feel his ribs being crushed slightly. But, she let go and Ciel took a much needed breath of relief.

Twirling. It instantly brought back memories of Alois' own twirling in their apartment earlier on in the day. Why was he surrounded with such energetic people? Another little breath and he'd regained his composure. Lily was a Lady, even if she didn't wish to be called one and she was somewhat like Lizzy, at least in personality and innocence.

"So it seems." He greets her with a smile and an outstretched hand. "Well Lily, shall we go for dessert?"

Oblivious to his thoughts, she merely did another twirl, giggling. However, the moment he stretched out his hand, she stopped, staring. Having a hand outstretched to her-- how many years has it been since anyone has done something like that for her? It gave her a curious pause, and it showed on her face, a mixture of something like confusion and mere curiosity ( ... )

Who knew offering a hand would lead to silence? It didn't last very long however, and soon enough Lily seemed back to her own self...which seemed to include grabbing Ciel's hand in a very unladylike way.

Lead? Of course he'd lead! He just hadn't been given the chance yet.

Without a word he began walking forward, holding her hand gently, properly, like he would with Elizabeth. "Am I?" He questioned, contemplating. No one had held their hand out to her? Not even one person? It was a hard concept to understand. "Is it a bad thing?"

Was it bad thing? She wasn't very sure, and so she shook her head. Whenever she wasn't sure of something, she would ask, and there would be an explanation. However, he was the one asking, so it should mean that he didn't know the answer either. Which meant that she can't ask him.

Instead, she giggled. "It can't be a bad thing if there's dessert! Hey, do you go out for desserts a lot?"

Well, there was that logic and he couldn't exactly disagree. Dessert made everything better. Most of the time.

As he lead her along the sidewalk, hand in hand, only slightly taller than her he considered her question. Did he go out for desserts a lot? Of course. They were one of the few things that kept him going in this city.

"I do. Back home I didn't, I had my butler make whatever I wished but he's not here to do so for me."

A butler? Well, a butler would be nice, she guessed. She's never met a butler before, so she wouldn't know. Butlers only belonged to high households, and Master Glen didn't like having too many servants around. They talked too much, and they were hard to silence if things got out.

So she tilted her head curiously. "But that's no fun! Desserts are only really great if you share them with a friend, otherwise, they don't taste like desserts at all."

"That's why we're eating them together, yes?" Desserts were only great if you had someone to share them with? That sounded like something Elizabeth would say...or Alois if he was feeling in a rather annoying mood. He wouldn't deny her claim, that would only start unnecessary arguments that Ciel knew would lead nowhere.

So, instead he asked:

"What do they taste like then?"

fffff she'll ask for chocolates, definitely. :3a regive September 20 2010, 01:09:07 UTC
... so did that mean that he was her friend? Well, this definitely lifted her mood considerably. A happy laugh, and she held his hand tighter, because that was what one was supposed to with with friends. Friends, she would never let them go, because they were her precious friends.

And then, she considered his question.

"Well, I don't know." She frowned, pensive. "I've never had any desserts alone before. Lottie and Fang and Dug were always there to eat with me, and before I met Lottie and Fang and Dug, nobody ever gave me any desserts."

A shrug. "But they can't taste good at all. Because if desserts are sweet when you eat with friends, then they can't be sweet if you eat them alone. It's only lo-gi-cal, isn't it?"

"Yes." Laughs were good and the squeeze to his hand was tolerated (after all he'd offered it) as the two turned a corner toward the little dessert shop a block away. It was interesting, Lily's logic and it was best to agree. There was no need to tell her that that wasn't exactly sound logical reasoning. It was best to take as much enjoyment out of the experience as possible.

"I'm glad you've had desserts before, at the very least. To not have desserts...well that'd be a crime."

At least in Ciel's opinion, it was.

Well, she wasn't really sure if it was an actual crime. Because she didn't want to commit a crime like that. She wanted to be friends with a police, after all, and she doubted she could make friends with a police if she committed a crime like that. But then again, he might not mean it li-ter-al-ly. Lottie had explained that to her a long time ago, so maybe she should take it into account here.

"Well, if you say so." She agreed amiably, nodding along, when... well, there it was. A shop that resembled a dessert shop.

She squealed, and suddenly tugged on his hand sharply. "Hey, is that it? Is that it?"

That was it, actually, and he felt the tug on his hand before he even spotted the shop. There were various sweets and pasteries and other delicious things in the window, and although the shop was small, it was quaint. Ciel had come here a few times now and they'd never failed to satisfy his cravings.

"It is." And with that they crossed the road to the shop, Ciel opening the door and leading her inside. Up to the counter they went and Ciel was already eying the assortment of goodies.

"What would you like, Lily?"

Uwa, there were lots of desserts! There were little cakes, and big cakes and cakes shaped like bunnies and some of which weren't shaped like anything at all. The decorations, she decided, where the best part of all.

"I want a pretty cake!" She giggled. "A very pretty cake! And it has to have lots and lots of pink on it, because pink is my favorite color, you know?"

Shallow as it was, those were her wishes. She tugged her hand out of Ciel's grasp and all but pressed her face to the display window, oogling the cakes with a little child's excitement. Her eyes lit up.

"That one! I want that one!" She proclaimed loudly, turning to Ciel with sparkling eyes.

It was...the most pink thing he'd ever witnessed, at least when it came to desserts. The cake was so pink it was practically radiating the color. Hopefully it tasted of strawberries. "That cake, please." He asked politely, pointing at it with his free hand. "Along with that black forest one." One could never go wrong with chocolate.

He looked over to the slightly smaller girl, waiting for the server to get the cakes. "Your favourite color is pink?" No, it hadn't been a surprise.
