Who: Ocelot (fancy_shooting) and Liquid Snake (ysobritish) When: 9/4/10 Where: starting at Ocelot's extra apartment Summary: TOP SECRET VERY IMPORTANT MISSION Warnings: nope
If there was one thing that Liquid Snake hated, it was being bored.
Sometimes it would bring him to drastic measures - he had a lot of patience, but it could be quite limited at times, and the longer he had to be patient, the more on edge he would get. He was a soldier first and foremost, and that was the most important thing. He enjoyed that life, after all. It meant a lot to him to be embraced in the thrill of missions, the risk of it all. It filled him with rare positivity.
That was why, at the word 'mission', he jerked upright from where he sat draped in Ocelot's favourite chair, vaulting to his feet in a heartbeat.
"What's the situation?" he asked, not really expecting an answer. "Whatever it is, I will assist!"
Ocelot grinned at Liquid's eagerness. It was good, because it meant he wouldn't have to make up a lie or cover-up for what he really wanted Liquid's help for. The man was obviously willing to go along even if it meant getting no explanation.
"It's still early, so we should be back before dark," he announced lightly, spinning his car keys around his finger. "Come on."
Despite not bringing anything with him but his guns, Ocelot immediately exited the apartment and led Liquid out to the car.
Liquid was used to not being fully briefed before things went down, although it was odd for a subordinate to be dragging him along like this. Well, future subordinate. Sometimes it was hard not to treat him as if he still worked for him. Sometimes he didn't bother to try. And sometimes? It was just more fun to treat him as if he still was and see if he'd obey.
He followed without a word of protest, slipping into the front seat beside Ocelot. "I take it the place we're going to is relatively far away, then?"
"Seventh sector. Not far at all, but we'll probably be needing the car."
Revving the engine louder than he needed to, Ocelot pulled the white former-rental car out into the street and drove on in relative silence.
It wasn't long before the car was bumping along a dirt road, which cut along miles and miles of level green fields. Ocelot stopped paying attention to Liquid almost entirely, and gave long looks at each barn they passed.
"Ah, let's try this one," he said suddenly, stopping the car and leaving it parked in the middle of the desolate road. He took his keys and exited, beckoning Liquid to follow as he went up to a barbed wire fence and quickly sawed the top wire apart with his knife. He hopped over the last two, and made his way through cow-cropped meadow grass straight towards the barn.
Liquid didn't bother to intervene on the silence, leaning his head on his hand as he stared out of the window. He was rather curious as to why Ocelot would need the car. Some type of retrieval? That would be interesting enough, he supposed.
He was rather surprised by their destination. What on earth was their mission here.
"Uh... Adam? What, precisely, are we doing- HEY! Listen to me while I'm talking!"
He followed him, hopping easily over the broken wire fence.
