Where: Somewhere in Section 4

Warnings: Darkness monsters ahoy!

Earlier on, he couldn't help thinking about working to improve the city's conditions. If only Asch had known about the slums... but that wasn't the case. As he trudged through unrelenting heat, he'd thought about how people shouldn't have to live in unsanitary or broken places. Though he wasn't in Kimlasca --wasn't on Auldrant, even-- some part of him wanted to make things better for the people who now lived in Siren's Port. After all, he knew he was supposed to be dead. But since he wasn't, it was time to think of this place as 'home'.

"Tch." He peered into the distance as the evening siren signaled the onset of Darkness. Asch hadn't realized just how far he'd wandered until the day's colors started fading away. Only then he noticed how far the apartments were and how long it would take to return to them. He probably should've signed up for the newcomer's fund. Not that he wanted to owe anyone, but he'd be sure to return for their investment. However, his trip wasn't in vain; maybe he'd apply to become a cook in one of the restaurants nearby.

Maybe he'd volunteer for night watch after being better situated. Volunteering... likely meant that he wouldn't get paid for it.

He peered in the direction of the apartments, knowing they were somewhere in the distance. Exactly how far now, he wasn't certain. So he continued to walk. Cautiously. And continued to seek another shelter, since it was possible that he wouldn't make it back. Just maybe he could take refuge elsewhere--

"Who's there?" He'd heard something nearby. His hand almost immediately shot to the hilt at his left hip. Were the monsters already upon him? Asch quickened his pace, not wanting to stay in one spot for too long...
