[Dour Himawari is dour. She holds a small cat to her shoulder and neck, sitting back on a couch that isn’t hers. The cat sleeps while she talks to the NV]

He’s gone again. [There is a moment, her jaw works, sets, and then she just sighs.] I’m not even sure how long he’s been gone this time. Not that long, I hope ( Read more... )

I think the core may be imbalanced because of the tampering, last month, but-

...The city really is considering reclamation of property for other uses?

Perhaps people will stop messing with it. If they want home attacking it isn't going to do anything for it. [a small sigh]

...The Landlord has been in a foul mood all day and hasn't really spoken on anything. I really hope they don't take the apartments away though. If people start showing up again they'll have no place to go.

Well, that's difficult to press home, with some.

If that's the case, we'll just have to figure out how to put them up ourselves. Raul's still clearing the new building for the Newcomer Political Party, and community center, but we could set up temporary housing in that space, if necessary. Dr. Xavier's new building also- and Miss Arisato also has boarding space.

What about those of you with greeter positions? Have anyone spoken to you yet?

[a small pause, frowning]

That's all well and good for now, but Mr. Creeds going to need that space after a while, and Miss Re-l's idea for finding a new place on our own is a good one but... it seems like such a waste. If we were to buy a building why not try and buy this one? Not that any of us have the money for that, but it's right here.

[A pause. Hnn] No, not yet. I tried to speak to the Landlord today after hearing it, but he's not in any mood to talk.

It's a shame. The building really doesn't cost them much to maintain, because aside from electrical costs, what's really to- ...no one's even fixed that elevator!

Perhaps we should pen an appeal to AGI and SERO. They certainly have the money to spare.

Electricity and water. I think that's about it. Maybe gas? Still, if those aren't being consumed at the moment from lack of use then it can't cost too much. The Elevator doesn't run, but that saved energy.

[A pause and a frown] You mean ask one of the companies for money? Is that really a good idea?

I thought AGI and SERO had been funding the towers all along?

I think so. The city owns the building and deals with the management but I think both companies deal with funding. If the city is saying it's not enough why would either company care to offer more to it?

Because the city doesn't have much to spare. The companies, on the other hand, may negotiate with us as a potential investment. Particularly if we use their competition to our advantage.
