005 [video]

[As the video comes on, Raven is on the street, holding up a copy of a library book with a disgruntled expression. The precise book is a little blurry, but those with acute vision will see that it's this.]Not to sound like a librarian, but come on. Some of these books are really in bad shape. And really? Someone underlined "'I love balls', said ( Read more... )

[Oh, look, she's using voice for once! Because her hands are busy. :( But we'll get to that later.]

Good timing, spud. Just about to message you. Figure I could borrow you?

[Raven is already regretting posting this stupid message to the network, but is quite surprised to hear girl-Robin messaging her. She also sounds slightly warmer than before, which is good...]

Sure, as long as it's not for one of those terrible socialization things.

[Idly, she wonders when she turned into the one dragging people into socialization.]

[There's an eyeroll here that you didn't see.]

No. You got time to meet me at [address]?

[Is that some gunfire in the background? That, or a whole lot of cars just backfired.]

Could definitely use a hand.

Of course. Sounds pretty bad... I'll be right over.

[Well, it's not exactly kissing and making up, but Raven's not the type for that anyway. Things must be better now. Maybe she got her heart back? She's still not sure what's up with that...]

[OH GOOD, BECAUSE GIRL-ROBIN'S HANGING UP. And when Raven shows up it'll be a warehouse, about 10 armed guys rushing around it, and a system that desperately needs hacking locked with Robin behind a fortunately thick iron door. Drug dealers' paranoia's pretty handy when their well-fortified offices suddenly lock them out-- but it's not gonna last too much longer.

She could really use a meatshield in all this.]

[Raven, after looking the address up, teleports about a block away and gets her bearings. Hmm, bad guys outside the building, it seems. Girl-Robin nowhere to be found. She probably meant inside the building, then. Summoning up concentration again, she teleports straight to the other side of the door, keeping an energy shield up in case there are bad guys on the other side.]

[Just Robin! Her NV plugged into the main computer and busily typing. She glances over when Raven appears, and doesn't smile.]

Hey. [A hail of gunfire from outside the door cuts off any other greeting, and little tiny inward dents begin to press into sight. She tosses a pointed glance at the door. Anything Raven can do for that?]

[Her lack of reaction seems to be forgivable, under the circumstances. Though, really, Raven should have been called in earlier, damn it, girl-Robin.]

Hey, girl-Robin. [She glances at the door, and, picking up on the general idea, starts to reinforce it, on their side, with a slab of black energy. She perhaps isn't considering that if it does burst open, it'll burst right into that shield, but hey. Not an engineer over here. After she does so:]

What's going on here?
