elevator setup E. [voice]

[ After a frantic night of checking absolutely everything - making sure he was all in one piece, all his data collected together and secure, untouched - Ash contacts the network for the first time in months. And he sounds less than happy, to make a considerable understatement. The usually smug and collected voice sounds rattled as it patches ( Read more... )

[That voice was familiar, taking Mayuri several minutes to place before he recalled the robot that he had spoken with at the Sero retreat.]

Interesting. I suppose that you're referring to the lack of power to most of the city, even a number of generators seemed to fail for the duration.

That's what it looks like. This city really is full of useless garbage.

My, my, you simply have to have someone competent actually build something rather than relying on simpletons like those of the shops here.

[ he sounds annoyed. ]

I'm the one building these things, idiot. Those fools cutting the power is the problem.

Any competent researcher would have had all data backed up and stored on a separate generator to avoid such complications of a blackout. Both labs that I've established maintained power for research and working computers systems.

All my data is safe; the problem is elsewhere. Don't make such ignorant assumptions.

Oh but you still lost power along with the rest of the grid did you not? Otherwise you wouldn't be asking about what occurred. Losing three days is rather large waste of time.

Hmph. I was forced to rely on the power sources supplied by these foolish humans, that's all. What's your point?

Still relying on humans? They're rather unreliable.

I'm the last person in this hellhole that you need to inform about human flaws. Stop wasting my time.

My my, we've yet to discuss the other matters that occurred. In addition to what you plan on doing to overcome such a loss in the future, I'm rather curious as to why it's such a dire matter.

You think you're entitled to all that? Give me a good reason to tell you anything.

We both currently have labs within Sero, it would be beneficial to potentially cooperate on a new power source.

... do they automatically get access to a lab upon getting into SERO? /dumb uraniumnumnum February 28 2011, 20:23:57 UTC
[ ugh. Ash hates working with people, even if this guy was obviously non-human. This damned city... he supposed he would hear him out. ]

And? What makes you think that we should need each others' help? I don't particularly want to work with any of you outsiders.

My, my, such a generous offer of my assistance and resources. You should be thanking me for keeping from losing further time with the number of those simpletons that have gathered around the core. Perhaps I would have even built a more suitable body than that robot you were using.

ah cool uraniumnumnum March 2 2011, 20:49:56 UTC
[ oh no. He doesn't need more of this. ]

Body? What are you talking about? That was a scout. As if I would be bothered to come in person to such a trivial affair.

[ ... after a short pause, he adds: ]

And it's damn arrogant of you to think you can build better mechanics than me. No one knows them better than I do. It's merely the matter of resources.
