Other Notes

- A news report slipped in after the fact, having been displaced by "bigger" stories, notes that on the night of the 19th, the Newcomer known as the Joker escaped from the prison before lockdown. The Joker was arrested on the charge of multiple homicides, including police officers. A thorough search of the prison has not turned up any sign of how the criminal escaped. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.

- There is a rather large article on the explosions that happened yesterday evening shortly before evening sirens. The report notes that a massive series of explosions in Sector 2 caused the destruction of a SERO DNA lab as well as several surrounding buildings, including an apartment building, small concert hall, and a convenience store, which resulted in at least 50 moderate and serious injuries, and 3 recorded casualties. There is an additional note on the article: the labs were supposed to be unoccupied at the time of the explosion, but the bodies of two researchers - a doctor and nurse - were discovered in the rubble. The hard-working researchers had been working on experimental DNA modifications to produce cells that would have saved the life of a 15 year old patient at (Name Witheld) Hospital. The patient died early this morning, when the cells were unavailable due to the explosion and death of the doctors.

- There is a small blurb about a Newcomer hero spotted in the skies shortly following the explosions that rocked Sector 2 today. The rescuer was noted as carrying several people at a time, and traveling by flight with a distinct yellow aura. The Newcomer did not give his name, but witnesses both at the scene and at the area hospitals where survivors were dropped off stated that he was a young boy with blond hair.

- There is a smaller blurb further down in the papers stating that authorities and experts have not yet found the root cause of the continuing blackout that has caused mayhem in the streets of Siren's Port. The only clue available is that yet another attack on the Core coincided directly with the time the blackout started - February 18th, shortly before evening sirens. Though no scientific or physical connection between the two has been identified, many witnesses to the attack have stated that the power shut down very shortly before the last attacker emerged from the area in which the Core is held. This attack bears a resemblance to an earlier attack in MO (guards at the site distracted while a second attacker or group of attackers attempts to enter the holding area for the Core), and authorities expect that the perpetrator may be the same. Information given in this article is a little hesitant - the perceptive reader may ascertain that this information was meant to be held back from the public.

- The power will be coming back on in-game at 5:30 pm PST, only 15 minutes before evening sirens, on February 21st (today).
