SHUT UP I HATE YOU!!!whipfistFebruary 3 2011, 09:20:31 UTC
[the response only fuels his anger - he has a lot to explain to him? Alex is silent too for a minute, thinking. he remembers quite vividly what happened before he ended up here.
if Cross really did just arrive here, he's probably either in the baseball diamond or heading to the apartments. somewhere in that vicinity. and no doubt, if he's close, Alex will be able to sense his infection.
rather than reply, he closes his NV and slams out of his room, now actively searching for his target.]
no you don't. :'(virogenicFebruary 3 2011, 09:25:36 UTC
[ Cross was a patient man; he could wait as long as needed for Alex to calm down and talk to him like a (relatively) civil creature. but, when the call disconnected, Cross already knew what that meant. Alex always seemed to like talking face-to-face more. ]
[ sighing, he closed the phone-like device and shoved it into a pocket. Alex was coming for him, that much was plain as day. so, that probably meant unnecessary confrontation. Cross waited, barely away from the baseball diamond. it looked deserted enough there. if Alex was going to attack him, better it be away from civilians. ]
[Cross showed up like a beacon in his vision as soon as he was outside. a ways away, but Alex would be there in seconds. he took off, making a beeline for the distance and slowing as he neared, his body tense and prepared to attack, or run, even, considering the thing Cross had transformed into last time.
once within distance to talk without shouting, he stopped. fists curled in on each other, visibly agitated and wary. he said nothing, waiting for Cross to speak up, or launch an assault, whatever the hell he wanted to do.]
[ Cross noticed Alex's presence as easily as ever. but he made no motion to attack, nor even acknowledge him. not yet. Cross was scanning the field once more, making sure there was no one else in range. once he was satisfied, he slowly turned to look at Alex. ]
That was fast. [ he started, keeping himself grounded. where to begin? Cross wasn't sure. ] How long have you been here? [ long enough to know the quickest path to get to the diamond, at least. that told Cross more than enough. but he wanted to hear Alex's explanation. ]
i do what i want.whipfistFebruary 3 2011, 09:44:47 UTC
[the question seems to piss him off more, for whatever reason. since he's not getting attacked, Alex takes a step or two closer, still on alert, his eyes never leaving the figure in front of him. when he speaks, it's almost bitter.]
I've been here five months.
[give or take a few days. but he didn't forget about what Cross did to him that easily.]
bb don't hate...virogenicFebruary 3 2011, 09:48:23 UTC
[ Cross had no intent to fight in him, but instinctively, his body tensed as Alex came closer. he watched him, but didn't move. five months... that was surprising. ] I see.
[ asking how or why seemed like a fruitless endeavor, so he allowed Alex to keep talking. the question brought a very ... conflicted expression to Cross' face. almost as if he didn't want to answer. and really, he didn't. ] ...If you're talking about what happened on the Reagan, I don't know. I was hoping you would.

[why the fuck was Cross being so calm about all of this? after trying to kill him, and all that shit he said before? another stab in the back. biomass rippled over his shoulders, his arms in a quick succession. Alex was furious, and he made no move to hide it as he raced toward the man, his hands instantly morphing into those claws Cross should have been familiar with, with the full intent of tearing him in half. or at least making him hurt.]
that's bad for you.......... high in sodium....virogenicFebruary 3 2011, 09:59:19 UTC
[ Cross was calm because he wasn't like Alex. he had had his moment of panic when he first arrived there; reliving it wasn't prudent to him. all he wanted was answers. and Alex didn't seem privy to giving him any. as he charged for him, Cross withdrew his stun baton and activated it, sliding back on his left leg, waiting for the moment to strike. ]
[ when he was in range, the baton came down in a wide arc, electricity crackling loudly. ] You wanna play this game? Fine!
[it was foolish to run at Cross head-on. but Alex wasn't thinking strategy right now, he was thinking revenge. blinded by anger, he continued straight at him, leaping up at the last second in an attempt to essentially jump over Cross and hit him from behind. the quickest way to kill him would be to attack and consume, but he knew it wouldn't be that simple.]
[ Cross hissed in irritation. Alex had gotten quicker since their last fight. real fight, anyway. what happened on the Reagan... well, Cross didn't want to consider that. as Alex lept over him, Cross whirled around and brought his leg up, aiming for a kick. something to get him a good enough distance away so he could start firing rounds. ]
[faster, yes, but still prone to recklessness. he saw the kick coming and twisted to avoid it but was hit all the same, attempting to swing a clawed hand in Cross' direction as he was punted some feet away. instantly he rolled back onto his feet, the black mass upon his arms melting, forming into a blade the length of his own body. Alex froze a moment, ducked forward, his eyes on his opponent. trying to figure out his next move.]
