How long do you think repairs are going to take you? I'm no construction worker, but maybe I could get my news station to advertise you guys need a hand.

I'm hoping to have it ready for use to move in in six weeks. But it's going to take several months to be finished.

And I would be grateful for the help.

I'll see what I can arrange. If anything we can at least slip it into this segment we got for weekly events. I'm Rochelle, by the way.

[ooc: since the news station is kinda made up, you could just assume it got mentioned on TV eventually and maybe some people came to help because of it, if you like!]

No problem. We're trying to get the show more newcomer-friendly, so what better way to get started, you know?

Nice to meet you.

So how big exactly's your household, Michael?

Twelve, right now. We seem to gain one or two every month.

The building is an old apartment building. The plan is to have apartments for the household and others as needed.

And I was thinking about running a school, or at least private classes. So, we need the space.

Holy shit. So you're practically an apartment.

If the three who have returned home were still here, there would be fifteen. And we have two kittens. So yes, we are.

There were four bedrooms when I arrived. There are seven now. We're just...out of room.

Ever thought about charging rent on the place already?

We are renting it ourselves. But we all pitch in, those old enough to work. Some aren't.

[voice] whoops I almost replied to another thread for some reason axemeaquestion February 2 2011, 07:20:50 UTC
Any particular reason you're keeping so many people under one room as opposed to the apartments or something, or is it just out of the goodness of your heart?

Honest question.

Five are family from home, one is related to one of my boys although not to me, one is a family friend, and of that group four are minors, one a small child.

The others have been friends and just belong here.

In truth, I suspect once we have the apartment finished enough to move in we are going to split into seven apartments within the building, at least for sleep. The first floor is going to be all common rooms, and a large kitchen.

Damn. Five from home, too? I'm a little jealous.

Sounds like you got it all planned out, though.

It's not the first time I've built a home.
