011: [voice]

Jan 26, 2011 15:42

[Not surprisingly, when her transmission starts, the listener is immediately greeted by laughter -- it was the woman's trademark, after all. However, those who have spoken to her before might notice that her giggling today has a far more lengthy duration, broke up only by anxiety-driven breaths. No, the woman wasn't having a panic attack, but she was goddamned close to it.. Normally in these situations, she'd default to text, but that was really kind of hard to do when you were walking around outside...not to mention her fingers were too shaky to concentrate on typing for too long. She just wanted to vent, so by god Siren's Port, she's going to do just that.

When she speaks, the distress, confusion, and frustration can be heard in her voice -- similar to her first couple of weeks within the Port. The woman was doing good but all of her conflicting thoughts with damned near everything and today's incident had her shaken up again.]

You're -- eheheheh -- you're supposed to try to do the right thing at all times, right? Heehee...at least that's what I hear from everyone else. It'd be wrong to just be quiet and sit around when you know people could get hurt...right? ...right?!

[The last word she said carried on a certain hysterical tone to it, so for her own sake, she paused into a pattern of breathy chuckling for a few moments before continuing again.]

B-but today...at my work -- at Coconut's -- I overheard somebody saying they said that they were looking for a place that sold o-- [She hesitated, before realizing that she should probably keep it a little more vague.] --that sold this certain type of food. Eeheeheeheehee...but I knew that could be bad for them -- eheh! -- really bad! So I told them that, but they told me that it was none of my business!

Maybe it wasn't, but I'd be doing the "wrong" thing if I just let them go, wouldn't I? S-so -- ahahaha -- I was a little more insistent in my warning. I told them it was a very bad idea! And that they might get in trouble for eating strange things! When they tried to walk away, I...grabbed them. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have done that, heeheehee...but then they called me a "freak"...told me that they'd uh call the cops on me if I didn't take my "fucking hands" off of them!

They threw such a fuss over it, that the manager came out to see what the hell was going on. I thought he'd have my side on this, because I've been there for a few months now and -- heheh -- that person had only been there once! Once! Ahahaha!

[Clearly upset, she makes an audible gulp, before the faint sound of a woman saying "Excuse me" is heard. At that, Sarina nervously giggles a little more, before continuing her story again.]

But he told me to take the rest of the day off, because I was clearly "unfit" to be working today! Then he told me if something like that ever happened again -- hahaha -- if it ever happened again, I'd be fired...because I'm a "liability" like that!

I tried to be helpful...I tried to do the right thing! Eeeheeheehee...but apparently I'm a "liability" because of it. Should I really do nothing the next time it happens?
